Popular Folk Songs
Odin and Humanity Doth Not Own the Land.

by Falkryst de Flamberge.

Possibly the worst title I've heard for a song. The minstrel in question has got to learn to shorten song titles. On the other hand, I have to say, that the song itself is actually quite good. The tune is reasonably catchy and the lyrics are strong. Well, maybe I'm just partial to the sentiment! No offense Mother Elba, although I know you better than that. Anyways, I suppose I should add, for politeness, that I don't support nor denounce the sentiment of this song. I just like it.

I've got a better idea who Falkryst, or Falkryst de Flamberge, is, but until I know for sure, I ain't saying. I can say for sure that it's a man. How do I know? I'm Redstring! I have my sources. Don't question me.

This song's more of a protest than a mockery, like his first song, March of the Crusaders. The lyrics are a little more book learned, but I'm sure you blokes can figure 'em out. I can help you if with the big words if you're having trouble. Ha! Relax, I'm kidding. Well, first the Crudders and now the One-Eyed Gerbils. Looks like Falkryst just isn't happy with the powers that be. And he ain't afeared of them neither. I can respect that in a man. I think I'll tinker with it a bit and sing you my version in a few days.

Anyways, enough talking! Here's the damn song.

Thou art the ones who call thyselves civilized,
Yet bare thee fangs to those who be not human.
Thee and thy hatred doth not be in disguise,
Thou shouldst realize that all of us are kin.

Odin and humankind doth command control,
But was not the grass, trees, mountains, and lakes in existence 'fore all.
They taketh dominion over what ist to share,
Avarice and greed rule over their hearts, and lives are nay theirs to spare.

'Fore thou hadst thy seed planted on this land,
Elves, Dwarves, Halflings and all roamed free.
Odin hath his eyes of green, with gold in hand,
Only in dominions of coin doth he have any glee.

Odin and humankind doth command control,
But was not the grass, trees, mountains, and lakes in existence 'fore all.
They taketh dominion over what ist to share,
Avarice and greed rule over their hearts, and lives are nay theirs to spare.

Odin and his followers showeth not goodwill,
Save for those borne with pure human blood.
Thou believe that other races shouldst lie still,
Whilst thee engulfs the land like water in flood.

Odin and humankind doth command control,
But was not the grass, trees, mountains, and lakes in existence 'fore all.
They taketh dominion over what ist to share,
Avarice and greed rule over their hearts, and lives are nay theirs to spare.

It hath become a time for all to stand and rise,
The world ist for all to enjoy and live within.
Odin canst defend borders from the masses size,
Join as one for there ist nay to lose...AND ALL TO WIN!!!
