Day 1 ; Arrive Bangkok
Arrive Bangkok airport, transfer to MANHATTAN HOTEL. Rest of the day free at leisure.
Day 2 : Bangkok to Chiang Mai by train (B)
Morning at leisure. Afternoon tour of the canals of inner Bangkok and Thonburi. Leave by overnight train (2nd class sleeper) for Chiang Mai.
Day 3 : In Chiang Mai (B)
Early morning arrive Chiang Mai, transfer to STAR HOTEL. Morning free for relaxation. This afternoon, we visit the Doi Suthep Temple.
Day 4 : To the Lisu Village (B+L+D)
Leave Chiang Mai by pick-up truck, visit the market at Mae Malai, stop for a short swim at a waterfall and drive along winding road to a Shan Village to commence trekking of 2 hours to a Lisu Village at Baan Huay Nam Dung. O/N at Village Huts.
Day 5 : To Elephant Camp, Rafting Camp (B+L+D)
Trek for 3 hours to the Elephant Camp, enjoy riding on elephants for 2 hours through teak forest to the Rafting Camp. O/N at Camp.
Day 6 : Rafting Down River, Return to Chiang Mai (B+L)
3 hours of bamboo rafting to a Lahu Village with stopover to visit a Karen Village, then a further 2 hours of exciting rafting down the many rapids en route to the Shan Village where we board our pick-up truck back to Chiang Mai. O/N at STAR HOTEL.
Day 7 : Chiang Mai (B)
A whole day at leisure to explore Chiang Mai on your own.
Day 8 : Fly Chiang Mai  -  Bangkok (B)
Transfer to Chiang Mai airport and fly back to Bangkok, ending the trip.

FROM RIVER KWAI TO THE GOLDEN TRIANGLE

Day 1 : Arrive Bangkok
Arrive Bangkok airport, transfer to MANHATTAN HOTEL. Rest of the day free at leisure.
Day 2 : To Kanchanaburi )B+L+D)
Depart Bangkok for Kanchanaburi, visit the World War II Museum, the famous River Kwai Bridge, then board the Death Railway Train to Nam Tok Station, then transfer to the RIVER KWAI JUNGLE RAFTS. Afternoon visit to the Mon Village. O/N at River Kwai Jungle Rafts.
Day 3 : To Chiang Mai by train (B+L)
Visit the Hell Fire Pass Memorial. After lunch, drive back to Bangkok to catch the overnight train (2nd class sleeper) for Chiang Mai.
Day 4 : In Chiang Mai
Early morning arrive Chiang Mai, transfer to STAR HOTEL. Afternoon visit to the Doi Suthep Temple.
Day 5 : To Chiang Rai (B+L+D)
Leave Chiang Mai by pick-up truck en route via a Hot Spring to Chiang Rai. We continue by boat up the Mae Kok River and travel on elephant's back through teak forest to a Karen Village. Then, a short trek to a Lahu Village. O/N at Village Huts.
Day 6 : To Akha Village (B+L+D)
5 hours of trekking along beautiful scenery and rice fields to an Akha Village. O/N Village Huts.
Day 7 : To Golden Triangle, Chiang Mai (B+L)
Excursion to the Golden Triangle, visit Mae Sai and ancient Chiang Saen, then return to Chiang Mai. O/N at STAR HOTEL.
Day 8 : Fly Chiang Mai - Bangkok (B)
Transfer to Chiang Mai airport and fly back to Bangkok, ending the trip.

Early morning arrival Chiang Mai, transfer to STAR HOTEL. Afternoon visit to the Home Industries.
Day 4 : To Pai (B+L+D)
Depart Chiang Mai by 4x4 WD to visit the Orchid Farm, see elephants at work, visit the local market, Mok Fah waterfall and a Lisu Village en route to Pai. O/N at MUANG PAI RESORT

Day 5 : To Mae Hong Son (B+L+D)
Explore Tham Lod, Tham Pla (Fish Cave), then onward to Mae Hong Son. Afternoon boat trip up the Pai River to visit the unique "Padong" Hill Tribe. This primitive tribe are spirit worshippers and many of its women still wear neck, leg and arm rings. O/N at GOLDEN PAI RESORT.
Day 6 : Fly back to Chiang Mai (B+L)
After visiting some Burmese style temples - Wat Jongkam, Wat Doi Kong Moo and Wat hao Wieng, we catch the afternoon flight back to Chiang Mai. O/N at STAR HOTEL.
Day 7 : Chiang Mai (B)
Whole day free for individual exploration of this charming city and to shop for local souvenirs. A stroll around the night bazaar in the evening would be worthwhile.
Day 8 : Fly Chiang Mai - Bangkok (B)
Transfer to Chiang Mai airport to board your flight to Bangkok, ending the trip
