The 7-day game drives took me to the scrubby savannahs of Samburu National
Reserve. The grevy zebras and the unique recticulated giraffes are
indigeneous animals to this area.
-
The Ark, located deep in the jungle of the National Park of Aberdare,
offers visitors a close encounter with the animals at the various
water-holes and salt-licks. The animals would come out at night to drink and forage
for food.
-
At Lake Nakuru, you could witness a large
concentration of pink flamingos, estimated to be over a million. It
was indeed a breathtaking sight.
-
My safari ended at the world famous and huge National Park of Masai Mara
where you could meet many species of wild animals and birds, particularly
the world tallest giraffe (which is different from Samburu) in its vast open
grassland flanked by the Serengeti National Park of Tanzania. You will
definitely find this place intriguing.
