Friends for years, the mcGloens individually played in and out of other aspiring local bands. They found that their musical tastes were similar and together they played all the essential instruments needed for a band. So they started one. The mcGloens began learning cover songs together and writing original material in the fall of 1999.

The mcGloens bring together influences as varied as R.E.M., The Samples, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Poole, Rush, and James Brown. The result i s a collection of well-written, catchy pop songs, and a high-energy live performance.
