Golden Sun 2 – The Lost Age

Walkthrough (1st half)

Prolog: it’s in the Venus Light House. Felix, Jenna, and Kraden try to get out of there. Then Felix decides to go up to see what is happening, which leaves Jenna and Kraden. Alex will join you temporarily. At the front of VLH, there are guards guarding. Alex will scare the right side soldiers away. Jenna will have to go to the right site side.  

  1. You will only have Jenna for now, and there are four battles to fight. First three, you have to fight with the soldiers. Just use the Jenna’s Fire Dragon. Then, the forth, a bug monster jump into you. Then go on to the broken ship. Suddenly, the VLH rises, and the land split.
  2. First town: there is really nothing to do. Just leave.
  3. Travel to the south to reach the Kandora Temple. Go to the left since the gate is locked. Use whirlwind to get rid of the leaves. You will get into a temple. At the 2nd or 3rd screen inside, with many stone pillars, go left. It seems like there is no way, but just try, you will find a way in the pillars. On your way, there is a character transferring item (A script like item) in a chess box. There is a hat you will get, which gives you the “Tie” psyenergy, also. Then after you get Tie, go to get the Mercury Djinni in the temple.
  4. Go to the cave at the right of the first town: just get the Jupiter Djinni. It will run, just follow him around, and then he will be running on the wall, then you can just use the fire pillar to block the Jupiter way. After that, just leave.
  5. Travel southeast to the Kekan Plateau (or highland). Get a fire Djinni and a red rock contain the “Hammer” psyenergy. Just go after the Djinni. Couple things to tell you: (1) At the wood bridge. After you chase the Mars to the other side, and it uses hammer on a pillar and run away. You have to go back to the other side of the bridge, and go down, move the pillar, and climb down along the vine on the pillar. (2) In the screen, where if you get to facing the Dijinni, it will use hammer to press you down, you have to try to get to the bottom right exit of that screen; and then get outside, and drop yourself down through the holes. Thus, you will step on the Dijinni, and it will drop a red rock.
  6. Out of the Plateau, there is a cave close by, go in to get the first Djinni Combination Summon Script (1 Venus and 1 Mars)
  7. You can wonder around at the west part of this portion, you will encounter a Venus Djinni.
  8. To the town nearby, go to the jail in the town, you will meet Picard (the Mercury adept) locked in. It’s not much to do for now, so just leave.
  9. Go right, across the sea. Then enter the desert. There is a Jupiter Djinni there. To fight with boss, a Scorpio, use hammer to press down the wood so it cannot travel anywhere but enter the cave. After defeating the Scorpio, you will get s stone which allows you to use “Dig” psyenergy. Later, if you see a circle in the desert, just use dig. (you will talk with bunch of people, including a prince and a king.)
  10. At the end of the desert, go up to the town near by. Go to the broken boat at the far right of the town, and fight with sailors. If you cannot find them, go back to the town, and talk to a person close by the well, or use mind reading on him.
  11. Then reenter the desert, and go down to exit the desert. Then go to the Pink Mt. (Air Rock) in the big desert. Use whirlwind at the stone to help you get ride of the sand blocking the road. Climb all the way up to the mountain. At the top, use whirlwind at big red stone to open up the door into the cave. In the cave, revive two big statues, so the little wind blowers will blow wind out to transport you. You will get Reveal psyenergy, and another Dijinni combination summon script. (There are couple powerful weapons you can to get right here!)
    (At one place in the cave, you have to use the whirlwind to open a “door” with many pillars and the wood in front. First, use the left pillar to overlap the far left wood. Then use hammer on the wood at the center-right. Move one pillar in front of the wood, and the other one behind the pillar. Look like this:

  12. Go down to the Wolf town. Follow the wolf to the cave. Talk to him Twice, and get a Jupiter Dijinni from him.
  13. At the upper north of the town (not in the town), there is a cave with another combination summon script. There is a Mercury dijinni at the little open space nearby.
  14. Go to the next town at the west, use Dig at where the chicken and the sheep are to get the fire dijinni at the back of the town.
  15. Go all the way back to the town where you first met Picard. And go west (not in the town) to the port. In the front of the dog, use dig to get a spring. On the mountain. Also, there is a Mars.
  16. After the port, travel upward, there will be a city, but really nothing to do. Then continue to travel northward, arrive at a gate with guards. You have to avoid the guards. If they catch you, they will stop you. There is a mad dog. Stop it by dropping the rock to block its way out. U probably will see a Jupiter. But u can’t catch it for now.
  17. Arrived at the town with a ceremony happening. Turn left at the gate, use tie to get up and then just jump at the sticks and roof to get to Picard. After the conversation, move the pillar in front of you, and then Picard will join you. Then, keep going around to the right side of the statue. Use dig at the “x” to find a ladder.  
  18. (Inside the statue) U will see a rat at one level. Isn’t that inspiring? U will do what the rat does. To get the Venus Dijinni, you have to revise the rotation of the wheels, by releasing the shinning wheel. Then step on the one of the red wheels at the above level to get you down. At the head of the statue, use hammer to redesign the input of electric map of the eyes. You guys have to help the magician to make the eyes working.
  19. Talk with the magician, and reenter the statue through the tongue. Through a secret pass, get the stone for activating the ship. Then leave this town. U now can get the Jupiter at the gate. Also, at the port, go get the two mushrooms, one green and one red.
  20. Go back to the town with the Jail. Talk to the prince, and receive “Tear Wind” Psyenergy (remove grass; someone calls it Cyclone.) Talk to the old man in a house, and give him the green mushroom, then he will give you his Mars Dijinni. You will encounter one of the villains here. I think her name is Kurst. She will just talk with you, and then leave.
  21. At the right of the Inn, there is a ladder, climb down to reach the underground of this town. Use reveal to reveal the locker at the gate. You will get Shake Psyenergy. At one room, you will see a red box at the top of the cabinet, use shake to shake it down. You will get a combination Summon Script.  
  22. Go back to the statue (the town Picard joined), and go down to the underground in the statue. Use Tear Wind around to transport you. Get another Venus Dijinni and a character transferring item (a black book).
  23. Go to your ship, fight with boss of a sea creature (combination of the squids). At the bottom, just push the right pillar into the middle, and use Drowse to fill it up with water. Then the gate will open.
  24. Now, you can use your ship to travel around.
  25. Go to the far east long island on the map. You will see a blue mountain there. Don’t go there yet, go up to the town first. Use the Drowse (rain drop) psyenergy at the big blue stone. Something will happen, then go down to the Blue Mountain. There is a Jupiter in the village, but u can’t get it for now.
  26. At the blue mountain, if you see a big blue rock or an empty bucket, just use rain Drop on it. Climb up to the mountain. At the top, there will be a pool, and after u use rain drop on the blue rock near by, there will be a little whirlpool in the middle, just jump in to it to enter the cave. In the cave, you will get Dry Psyenergy for Picard. To open the way into the room of the Script for Dry, you have to get an item in the cave, and put it on the podium at the waterfall. There is a Mercury in the cave. You have to use Dry on the water bucket, and then go down to catch it. To exit the cave, use dry at where there is a chess box in the water.  
  27. Then after this, go to the island at the upper right of the map. U can go into the town first. Then go down to the brown mountain. Go to left at the entrance of the cave, and climb the mountain. There are vines you can climb on. At one point, you will see a wind blowers blows wind at a vine; that is telling what you should do, use whirlwind to help you get the vine. At the top of the mountain, at the white podium, use reveal to get the dance doll. Now go down and enter the cave, and use the dance doll at the podium to move the statues that block the entrance. Use the dancing doll on each white podium you see; it will allow lights to go through the little holes to weaken the green dragon. To get to the green dragon, go back to the first screen of the cave, and go straight forward. You will be in a maze, just use growth at the grass, it will point out the direction for you. You will fight the green dragon, and it is hard boss. you will get burrow psyenergy after defeating the dragon, which allows you to travel under sand, for Felix here. There is a good sword in the water behind the dragon, use burrow to pass the dead dragon, and get the sword (not the bowl the dragon drinks from). Go back to the town, and give the dancing doll to the princess (I guess); she then will give you a Mars dijinni. Also at the right of the town, there are six pillars. Move the far left one forward, and then use reveal to show the ladder in the middle. You will need to use burrow to help you go through this underground place. You will get a combination summon script at the end.
  28. Back to the town (where the blue mountain is). Reenter the town. At the beach, use burrow to get to the other side of the rocks. Then go rightward. There is an entrance behind the waterfall, just enter. Use whirlwind to reveal another door. When u get out, it’s right at the Jupiter.
  29. Sail straight to the left of the main land. Just sail along the upper part of the main land. You probably will see a town at the beach, called Chiyanba. Just slightly above, there’s another beach. Drop off at this beach, and go into the old looking tower.  In this tower, use burrow at the sand area to find a way out if there seems no way out. In the light house, at the room with many stone faces. Go to the left one first, and complete everything, then go to the middle one. At last, go to the right one. There is a room, where the other exit door is blocked by the stone. You have step on the little steel flat in left side of the room to get the stone down. For this, you have to ran fast before the sand can cover it (it might take you couple tries). After you finished filling in the pieces of the stone face, the eyes of the stone face will turn green. When you go down there, the head will come down. You have to run up and use burrow to stand under the sand in the middle until the face pass away. Then you can go forward. Use reveal to get the another piece of the face down. Go down to the face, and use burrow in the sand going upwards. You will reach the top of the light house, get a piece of Trident.
  30. Go back to the first town, and go to the large room with the healer is. Get the water drop there. Then leave the town and go right-ward to enter the cave. Use reveal and frost (jumping on the ice). Until you reach a room with some water and a statue. Place the water drop on there, and the water level will raise and so the statue. You will get the second piece of the trident at the top.
  31. Sail all the way to the bottom south part. I think you can only stop the ship at a beach at east side of the ice island. Go all the way to the west, until you reach a tower. Before you go in, continue go toward the west and walk alone the cost. Until you reach an empty place surrounded by mountains. In there, there will be a wild Jupiter. You have to walk around in the empty space, it takes a while to encounter it.
  32. In the tower, use dry to get rid of the water. First, enter the right entrance. At the end you will get an item which will allows you to use Blast or Burst psyenergy. There is a Mars Dijinni if you take the center entrance (in the room with 4 or 5 entrances), slide straight down the ice pass, you will get to the room where the Mars is. To get to the Mars, slide: left, up, right, up, right, down, left, up, right, down, right, up, left, down, right, up, right. After that you can enter the left and the center entrances in the first room. The left, use burst to break the ice and get four items. The center, use blast to break the ice to get the last piece of trident.
  33. Go back to the town where the broken ship is. Enter the ship, at the back, there is a secret room. Use shake at the end to get the bread or something like that. Now get out and solve the puzzle of the canvas. (move the boxes into the ocean. And use burst at the center big rock) Then get back at the ship, and people come, talking, running, and the guys in jail escape…… For the bread, there is a little kid crying at the stair in the town. Give it to the boy, and it will tell you something (I have no idea what it’s about).
  34. Go to the town, Chiyanba, which is close to the old tower (step 29). Enter the cave, and try to find an old little in a room with a big hole. Try yes and no for answer to fight the red dragon. It’s not that difficult to beat compare to green dragon. After that, talk to her, and she will help you assemble the trident. Use reveal to get to the middle of the hole so to get the trident.
  35. Sail all the way to the right or east. At the lower mainland, there is a town called Yaramu. You can talk to the kids, then they will show you how to go through Lemuria. The special thing about this town is at the left, there is a blacksmith (a guy lies on the bed). If you have a water stone, a feather, a semi triangular rock, or a rusted weapon, show it to him, he will make weapon or a defense item out of it. It doesn’t take really long. You can just run out of the town, and reenter immediately, and he will be done with it. Talk to the guy at close to the door, he will sell you the item made.
  36. Travel to the southeast of Yaramu, There is a swap land. To get to the swap land, exit Yaramu from the upper exit, which leads you to the beach. From there, go west and then south (a big round trip) to this swap land. You will get quite a few items for the blacksmith to make something for you here. In the swap land. You have to run fast in it to reach the next bubble. The bubble will raise you up from sinking. There are couple more cave at the other side of swap. There is a Venus here. Couple tips for complete go through this place: Sometimes you have to run against the pressure, that’s the only way to get through, keep running, don’t give up (it drove me crazy, so I guess it probably will drop you crazy as well). There is one place, where you have to use water drop and then frost for you to jump cross. Run fast before the pressure can get melt your ice. At the bottom, there is one jumping place with four jumping spots, and u have to run against the pressure. Try hard to get the end and jump to the right. Run fast! At the end, u get another item for the blacksmith.
  37. Sail to the middle white part of the map. Enter the front door, since the side door won’t work for now. Use the whirlpool to move. At the each volcano, just circulate around it. After couple circles, one stream will disappear. Move fast, it’s only for couple seconds. After you go though all, you will fight the gate guardian (look like one to me). It has this psyenergy that keep him from losing life points. When he does that, use trident at him. After you beat him, sail forward to reach the town (Picard’s home). There is coin toss game, where you can get another combination summon script if your coin is at the center, and other good stuff. Talk to people around. There is a guy in a room with a little bird, who will tell Picard that his mother is dead. Picard will run to the grave yard and cry there. Go to right to reach a 3 floor build. Talk to the guy in the building, and he will snap Picard out of it (you won’t see it though). Then go to the palace, and talk to Picard’s father. At the end, he will give you a stone, which only Felix or later, Isaac can equip. It gives you the psyenergy to low down the rocks at the sea. After that, you can leave. In the cave, there is a way block by a rock, use that Sinking psyenergy to sink the rock. After the ship stopped, you can go to catch a Mercury. Use Tear Wind or cyclone to get rid of the grass. It’s hiding under the far left one, and it will run hiding in the statue. Then use shake to make it out. To exit, use Sink to sink the rock down. U will leave via the side door.
