Kevin watched as Averi and Howie walked away. Averi seemed to like all of his friends. He was very happy about that. Kevin sat thinking about Averi. He had been in such deep thought he didn't realize AJ had sat next to him.
"Kev, Kev, KEV!"
"What?" Kevin asked breaking out of his daze.
"Where did Averi go?"
"She went to get ice cream with Howie."
"Oh I see. Why didn't you go with them?"
"I dunno. I didn't really want ice cream."
AJ gave him a weird look.
"What's wrong with you man? If I were you I would've gone with them just so I were with Averi."
"I'm so stupid." Kevin said hitting himself on the head.
"I don't think hitting yourself is going to make you any smarter."
"Oh shut up," Kevin said punching AJ in the arm.

Averi and Howie walked slowly eating their ice cream.
"Averi I wanted to ask you something."
"What?"
"Do you like Kevin? He's worried you don't like him."
"I like him alot. I was afraid he didn't like me.'
"Geez. You two are pathetic."
"Why?"
"I was watching you guys in the water. I could tell that you guys want each other so bad, but neither of you realize it."
"I see. So he really likes me?"
"Yeah he does."
Averi smiled. On the outside she was calm, on the inside she was so excited.
I'm so excited Kevin really likes me.
Howie and Averi made their way back to the blankets. Averi noticed that AJ was sitting there now. When she sat down she made sure she sat closer to Kevin than she had before. Howie noticed this and smiled in approval.
