The 1970's

I'm an average working class kid. I worked in a factory for two years
where no one spoke English. I had long hair, and the guys were so rotten they used to
throw things at me. I remember one time I said, "Hey listen, I've been working here for
three months, can't you get me a better job?" And he goes, "Oh yeah, you can read and write,
I'll think about that." I spent two years in prep school. Of course I can read and write. I
can spell too. So I did that for two years, saved up enough bread, worked at night playing. - Circus, 8/10/76
