I created this site in '97 originally just because I wanted to know if I could build my own. Since then it has been a never ending struggle to find content. What do people want to see? What do I have to provide?

Over the years I have gone through the worst layouts. The brightest layouts. And some of the dullest content on the web. My heart was in the right place but I was in the mode of more is best. That of course did not make for a great site. Not even a good one. It was pretty damn bad.

After abandoning the site, I left it laying in hellish limbo displaying the brightest layout ever. Over done. Uninteresting. Abandoned.

In January 2003 after seeing so many abandoned sites, ugly sad sites and beautifully created sites I decided to throw my hat back in the ring. I had begun writing frequently again and thought that hosting them here was not such a bad idea. But looking over at the many sites out there I had no clue as to an overall theme.

I only knew that the one thing that had been consistent throughout my life has been writing. My way of seeing the world. I think I spend more time in daydreams than in the real world. And hence came Escapism.

It still isn't the most creative site, stylish or is even loaded up with awesome content. But it is simple and unassuming. I still have that struggle for content. But for now what it has is good enough for me. It makes me smile.

About ahimsa-creations

Ahimsa means non-violent. Basically you won't find extreme violence on this site. No wallpapers with decapitation or any sort of violence towards animals, that sort of thing. If I were ever to include work of that sort it would be in protest of such a thing. I watch the occasional violent action flick and might even include a once in a while, angry shout-off but violence is not a part of my creations.
