Life is just too busy right now so this is going on the back-burner.

Even though I came to the Conoco team late I still managed to swindle an invite to the Winter Festival.  And for my date, of course I took the wife (Maureen Johnson.)  When they asked for food allergies and the name of my company I just provided a first name not realizing how ridiculous that sounds when over 2000 people were expected at the party.  There were Live Statues, Ice Carving, Poi...

So Andrew Rea from my graduating class got his first vacay after working roughly 24/7 since May.  Saw him on Saturday and had some beers, caught up on what he's been up to and where our lives are going.  It was a fullfilling day.

Starting Wednesday of last week Dean needed to be at his new job in the deep north west for 7:00am every morning. He didn't have a car, public transit doesn't go there from my place, I have never been able to get a hold of a cab company. This meant that Gill or I would have to drive him (40 min with clear roads) in the morning. So I did on Thursday and there was a fresh dusting of about a half of a foot of snow which made urvryone drive slower than tortoises (I hear tortoises drive slow) and ultimately I was 45 minutes late for work, bad news. Since Dean had already started the process of getting a car, a Jeep Wrangler, we would just have to help him out until this Tuesday. But on last Friday it was determined that it just wasn't going to work, so Dean rented a car but the only time it could be picked up on Saturday was when he was at work. Being the good host that I am I said I would go pick it up for him. So on Saturday I drove him to work at 6:20am and once I got home I slept for 20 minutes and took transit across town to the rental place but the closest stop was eight blocks away from Enterprise. I ran those eight blocks in -24°C, snowy, windy weather to make it there by 9:00am. I arrived at Enterprise (my face was all white and I looked like a Yeti, too bad I didn't get a pic) at 9:30am though there was the 007 movie I was going see that started at 9:30am and put on by ConocoPhillips, but looks like that's not gonna happen because the lady at the desk decided to give my car away so some guy could be drivin' across town. Becuase the movie was a write off Mark, Matt & I went to Denny's to get drunk eat some breakfast. During breakfast I get a call from Enterprise saying the previous rentor forgot his garage door opener in the car. We returned the opener to the guy after breakfast and caught the 11:30am showing of the new Bond movie. Awesome movie, Craig played a sick Bond.

So that interview Dean has this coming Tuesday is going to be his first day of his new job. Tonight at 10:20pm Dean arrived in the good ole village of Calgary. Now to find a place for him in this 2 bedroom apt., until he gets on his feet.

Hey, I finally updated with some new/old wallpapers check out the Fractal exhibit .

So this has been the door knob for the front door since I moved in and everyday it seemed that it got harder and harder to get my key through the tumbler, maybe some key lube? No, I have a better idea. So last night when I got home from work I decided this should be my last straw, the key wasn't going in easily enough for me and it was cold (-7 or something like that,) so I put the key in as far as I could get it, without jiggling it and took a step back. Now in the split second it took me to come to a conclusion as to what the next course of action should be, I wondered, what would Jesus do? And then knowing full well the immenent result, I slammed my foot onto the butt of the key and broke it off! Dammit!! Me and my slightly off centre aim. Gill wasn't around but luckily I had a spare with me, what are the chances? Chances of what? Breaking the key off in the door like an idiot? Or having a spare?

Good news though, Gill had today off and got a new door knob and I just installed it in about 10 minutes. "If women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy."

So I was chatting with Dean tonight and he informs me that he's got an interview on the Tuesday after next (21st,) for this job he's trying to get.  So I'll have my second house guest, yipee!!  And a friend for a few days. :)

So in downtown Calgary there's this building called the "Telephone Bvilding" and that's not a typo (well it's not MY typo.) And it has been bothering me so today, finally I built up the courage remembered to take a picture of it.

So what's going on here? I didn't go inside and ask what's up but it can't find a listing for the Telephone Bvilding in the phone book or on the internet.  This leads me to beleive that someone "f*cked up" (said like Ricky from TPB or Ryan from Timbo.)
