Well, the first day is now done, and it was... well yah. I arrived at the school at about 1:00, and nothing really happened until the Pilgrims arrived at 2:00. I also got an updated list of my people, and now i have eleven guys instead of ten. They are all from Belgium and speak english... pretty well. Its still hard to understand them alot. I was kind of surprised that all of my people are in their twenties at least. I thought it was gonna be people around my age or younger. World YOUTH day. well whatever. So once all the people figured out where they were supposed to be we showed them where they were sleeping. Sleeping. Oh man that would have been nice. Sleeping is not the easiest thing in the world, but i'll get to that later. I showed them where they sleep, they sorted all their stuff out, made a mess, and then we got them snacks and crap, then we went out to play games, just as a sort of "get-to-know-each-other" sort of thing. Of course I had already lost all of my people so i had to go searching for them to get them to the games. When i got outside to the games, they had already started by making a cheer for their team. They are the four teams, Red, Yellow, Blue, and Green. Me and Checo are both Yellow so he was handling our cheer or whatever. It was pretty amusing. All the other groups had long songs and stuff, but this is how my groups went, or how i remember it anyways:
"Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes,
And at the end they would all point in every direction. oh man that was great. Well after the cheer, we went into a little rotation of four games. First we did an obstacle course, which was NOT fun. Heres the layout of it. Skip 5 times, spin around and get dizzy, then kick a soccer ball through some pylons, then hula hoop 15 times, then crab-walk back to the beginning. Luckily we ran out of time so we never finished. The next event was that thing where everyone reaches into the middle with their right hand and grabs someone elses right hand, then they do the same with the left, and the have to untangle everyone and make a circle without letting go of anyones hand. My team kicked ass!!! Then the next event, a three legged race. That was nothing special really, so then after everyone tied their legs together to make a chain of about 15 people, then they tried to run. THAT was funny. both the end started moving, but the middle stayed still so everyone just fell flat on their asses. The last event we were all looking forward to. Waterballon toss!! But it was already too late and we had to go inside again for something, so my group just grabbed all the waterballoons and chucked them at everyone going inside. haha, my group is a bunch of hooligans. After that, we went to church, which was boring. But on the bus ride there all the belgians started singing songs in dutch and everyone was bouncing around in their seats and crap, it was great. Belgians are cool. when we got to the mass, me and my friends sat up in the balcony, and all the pilgrims sat up at the front. Then we got in trouble, so we had to go sit at the front. Then we got in trouble because we sat in the reserved area. Then the girl next to me told me to shut up because im in church. then the girl next to me whacked her head on the pew. Then nothing worth noting happened, and church ended an hour or so later. After the mass, we had a big barbeque thing and a dance with a live band. The food at the barbeque was really good and the band was okay. I really, really hurt my legs dancing my ass off. After all that stuff, we headed back to the school and most of the pilgrims took showers. then most of them were tired and went straight to sleep.
