Back On Track....September 9, 1999

I was feeling better today, thankfully. After all, 'tis Thursday, and you all know what that means.

The return of the Thursday overnight client!

Yes, if ever I needed to make sure I had my meds...

Which reminds me, I was able to get a couple from Quincey late last night, and after a reasonable sound rest, I was feeling a bit more normal in the morning. Things still had a somewhat surreal quality to them, but all in all, I was functioning.

And continue to function.

One thing I was finally able to accomplish today was a trip to the liquor store to choose wine for the wedding ceremony. The hotel where the festivities will take place is charging a minimum $28.00 per bottle, in addition to a $5.00 fee for them to open the damn thing up. Nevertheless, they will order from the liquor store the wines of our choice. Given the fact that all we want is for people to have something to toast with, the hotel's fee is a bit too steep. So, I got our choices faxed this afternoon, right under the wire. We still have to pay the $5.00 corking fee, but I refuse to spend so much on booze. Call me cheap, but if I am going to spend a lot of money on wine, I want to drink it all myself.

Marrin came over this evening after the client went to bed. We had such a great chat, as always. Most of the time, we sat on the step outside, where a cool, gentle breeze lent relief from the trapped stuffiness inside my house.

She leaves next Tuesday, and she shall be missed.
