Oh My God...They Killed Kenny...July 3, 1999
I received a call early this evening from my best friend, Frieda. Since we had not had a chance to connect for a month now, it was a pleasant, and welcome surprise. Even more grand was that she had the evening free (highly unusual for her as she is extremely busy), and we decided to go see South Park, Bigger, Longer, and Uncut. Having not been feeling well, and on top of that, dealing with issues with Ms . Crabtree, I needed a good laugh. I was not disappointed.
I am a South Park fanatic. I love the show a great deal, mostly because it is more realistic in its satire than most people would like to admit. The movie was much more crass than the television show, but was down right hilarious. Frieda and I laughed until we burst, and it was such a good feeling to be out doing something non work related and non issue related. It seems that these have been the themes for the week, and I needed a break.
After the movie, Frieda and I went to Chapters Bookstore for coffee and conversation. Chapters is a wonderful bookstore for its lounging areas. We sat in two big chairs by some windows, and I received approval for the tuxedo style I am wearing at the wedding. Frieda is the Matron of Honour, and has great style to boot, so I am thankful that she thought my choice was fine. We then went for a walk along a train bridge that was converted into a walking trail, that extends approximately half a mile over the river. It was a mild, star filled evening, and there was the hint of blossoms in the air. It made me reminiscent for The Goddess, but was a pleasant walk none the less. It was so nice to see her and catch up with the goings on in our lives. Next to The Goddess and Lowlandz, no one knows me better than Frieda, and we never have enough time to spend together.
It was a lovely day. I woke up to Moo and Reekie nuzzles, I had a great sleep the night before, I had a low-key work day, I spent the evening with my best friend, and I ended the day with hugs and kisses from The Goddess. I love you Frieda, I love you Goddess. Thanks for being there today.
...Blessed Be
