The Spiritual Journey

"A Sampling Of Spring Serenity"....March 22, 2000

Just After Midnight...

.....and we were blessed with a glorious early Spring day today, made particularly exceptional in light of The Goddess' and my Solstice celebrations last evening. It was a treat to arise this morning to the sound of bird song, and to tentatively step outside in bundles only to be blissfully greeted by a warm morning sun.

In the wake of celebrating the change in season and our love for each other well into the wee hours of the night, I'll take today as both blessing and foreshadowing. This, despite the fact that I awoke feeling cursed, weighed down with a hangover, my head feeling like an anvil, after too much crimson wine infused with saffron and borage. The bright sunlight and warm rays gradually and thankfully infused my soul to comfortable contentment as the day wore on.

The Goddess and I wanted to make the most of this day, and decided to take client Cody, along with charming Reekie and irrepressible Moo, for an afternoon stroll. With the pups in tow, an afternoon's peaceful amble more resembles a daylight drag. Nevertheless, with the Spring sun's warmth gently radiating the body, intermittently washed away by a gentle, caressing breeze, one's soul becomes refreshed and rejuvenated enough to allow the pup's occasional ill behaviour to be dealt with cheerily.

Perambulating this beautiful day, surrounded by bare branches and grounded by muddy, wet sidewalks, it was difficult not to envision, almost will, young buds on the trees, taking in their first drink of sunlife, against a backdrop of crystal blue, cloudless sky. Tentatively hopping over and around the virgin foliage with inate grace would be baby squirrels, ever careful not to disturb the hatchlings nesting in an adjacent branch, who were noisily yet gratefully accepting a feed of newly emerged flies from Mother. Meanwhile, on the newly released river nearby, carrion hold court on the last few, ever diminishing blocks of ice flowing with the current, an audience to waterlife finally free to stretch their fins.

And once again begins the Circle of Life.....

....Blessed Be...
