The End Of The World As I Know It....January 12, 2000

...is not just a poke at the "celebrated" millenium, but actually the state of my reality. So much has happened in my universe over the last couple months, I could not begin to get caught up in just one entry.

So I'll start with the biggie.

The Goddess has arrived.

She has yet to roll up the red carpet.

However, despite some adjustment issues, major PMS, and a good dose of OCD as she adjusts her medication, all is well. I must say in her defense, we have had more pleasant times than not.

As it should be.

With the assistance of our dear friend, Alyx, we managed to move all her worldly possessions over a thousand kilometers in a matter of thirty-six hours. While I am sure not record breaking, it was tiring. The Goddess was recovering from a severe case of cat scratch fever, and carrying back with her a nasty flu virus, which ended up infecting myself, her sister-in-law, and others.

I call her Typhoid Mary.

Our holidays were spent recouperating, relapsing, recouperating, and relapsing. Given all that ironically has to be done during the festive time of year, we were both subject to moments of abject crankiness.

We have survived, nonetheless.

As long as she had present opening to look forward to, I was able to look forward to hours of good behaviour.

As usual, we spoiled each other rotten. I managed to scrounge up a few things for her to open beyond all the renovations to the house. She was thrilled with just that, I must say. I knew I should have had emergency services on stand by. Her reaction was unprecidented. Nevertheless, I could not let Christmas go by without her having something to open.

She would not stand for that, either, heh heh.

So, now that the holidays are over, my sniffles have abated, and things are getting somewhat back to normal, I am back to writing.

It is good to be home.
