We believe picture was taken in the 1950's. They visited my Aunt Pat and my Dad, children of Joseph and Victorine Beloin Dagenais. One is Jean Paul (I think he is the young handsome one) and the other is Uncle Ben (probably the brother of Joseph). We do not know who the third one is. Could Georges be in the front and Uncle Ben sitting in the back? Please let us know. Picture is complements of Patty Tufts Olmsted daughter of Victoria Dagenais Tufts (Aunt Pat).

Some notes about the sibling of JOSEPH ADOLPHE DAGENAIS and his parents. These are the result of my last visit to the French-Canadian Library in Tolland on Saturday, November 3rd.

I have decided that JOSEPH ADOLPHE is the father of my Dad, JOHN FREDERICK DAGENAIS, and then, of course, he is my Grandfather.
 JEAN-BAPTISTE DAGENAIS was born circa 1846 and he married ELIZABETH BRUNET on June 28, 1858.
Her father was JEAN-BAPTISTE BRUNET-BELLEHEUMER. I have found one sister of ELIZABETH, named JOSETTE-MARIE who married JACQUES LEMAI at Sault-au-Recollect on 26 November 1781. His parents were JACQUES LEMAI and ANNABELLE GAGNON.
JEAN-BAPTISTE and ELIZABETH were only 13 when they married in the Parish of Ste-Therese de Bainville, QC.

Their children were:
 MARIE ELEANORE DAGENAIS was born at Parish of Ste-Therese de Bainville, QC on March 4, 1859.
(Jean-Baptiste and Elizabeth were then 14 years of age.)

 JOSEPH ADOLPHE was born at Parish to Ste-Therese de Bainville, QC on August 26, 1863.
(Jean-Baptiste and Elizabeth were then 17 years of age and Marie was 4 years old.

 ALPHONSE was born December 20, 1867.
(Jean-Baptiste and Elizabeth were then 21 years of age, Marie 8 and Joseph was 4.)

 JOSEPH DAVID was born October 20, 1869.
(Jean-Baptiste and Elizabeth were then 23 yrs old, Marie 10, Joseph 6.)

 M. ZENOLIA DAGENAIS was born March 24. 1871, died July 27, 1875.

 JEAN-BAPTISTE DAGENAIS born July 26, 1872, died February 17, 1875.

 JOSEPH EUDORA BENJAMIN DAGENAIS born March 20, 1874,
(Jean-Baptiste & Elizabeth were then 28, Marie 15, Joseph 11)

(Marie Filion’s mother’s maiden name was DESMOREAUX, MALVINA.)

 JOSEPH DONAT DAGENAIS born June 6,1878, died October 8, 1880.

 GEORGES DAGENAIS born March 6, 1885.
(Jean-Baptiste & Elizabeth were then 39, Marie 26, Joseph 22, Benjamin 11)

(he was age 32 when he married – Joseph was 54.)
 MARGUERITE DAGENAIS was born January 14, 1886. She died in 1969.
(Jean-Baptiste and Elizabeth were 40, Marie 27, Joseph 23, Benjamin 12, Georges 1)

JOSEPH ADOLPHE married VICTORINE BELOIN January 7, 1890 when he was age 27. Benjamin was 16 and Georges was 5 years old. Marguerite was 4.

NOTE: I came across a little history that I would like to share:
Arnaud Dagenais was born about 1600 at LaRochelle, Charente-Maritim,
Saintonge, France; Married 1630 at LaRochelle, Charente-Maritim,
Saintonge, France. He married Andrea Poulet (or Paulet) who was
born about 1605 in LaRochelle, France.

His son Pierre Dagenais was born abt 1631-1637 in Lachine,
Charente-Maritim, Saintonge, France; married 17 November 1665,
Montreal, St. Laurent, Quebec.
He died 5 Aug 1689 in Lachine, Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
He married Anne Brandon who was born 1641 St. Laurent, Sedan, France.
She died aft 15 1698 Nov in Iriquois, Pat. Quebec.
Her parents were Daniel Brandon and Jeanne Prols both born
in Sedan, France.

It is this Dagenais that I hope to connect my Grandfather,
Joseph and Great Grandfather, Jan Baptist.

She was born November 23, 1866 in Hereford, Canada, and died December 07, 1941 in Plainville, Connecticut.

In back of them is View Street Plainville, CT USA and to your left in the rear is the 'outhouse' of the Hill home; to your right in the rear is a home that has had many owners over the years but at one time long ago it belonged to Harlow. The child is Audrey Lucille Dagenais now Roy (She is the daughter is John Frederick Dagenais.)

Notes for ANNA MARY LUCY DAGENAIS: Birth Record at New Britain City Hall lists name as Anna Mary Lucy . But could find no certificate. Assuming she was not born in New Britain but either Stonington, Southington (place of birth noted on death certificate of Laura Dagenais) or Terryville town noted in city directory where Joseph moved for a year or 2). Nothing has been found in Stonington or Southington for Anna Mary Lucy Dagenais.
