Part 2. applying the filters to get the look you want.
Photoshop has such a magnificent selection of filters! If you experiment with them enough to be familiar with the effects they create, then you will be able to visualize the way you want something to turn out, and make it happen by applying a filter or a combination of filters. When you experiment with these edge effects, you will get the best results from the brush filters , the distort filters and the pixelate filters. I also used the stylize filters . Try everything. If it doesn't look good, undo it and try something else. . Try combinations of 2 or 3 filters. Experiment, and have fun. Here are the filters I used to create the effects shown. You can get started with them , and then you can experiment and try out your own filter combinations until you get the look that is just right.

For the effect to the left, use filter pixelate>crystallize I set the size to 10. You can set the size to whatever looks good to you. |

To get this effect, apply filter>brush strokes>sprayed strokes stroke length 16 spray radius 10 direction right diagonal. |
