Knowing Him

Salvation

   Exactly what is it? We have probably heard it many times in our lives. At church, maybe at home, on television or from other people. People tend to complicate the simplest and most beautiful things. This is salvation in its pure and simple form. All of us as humans have fallen short of the glory of God, all of us have sinned in one way or another. Not one person has walked this earth without some kind of sin in their lives. You maybe 98% righteous but that 2% puts you in the same category as the rest of us, “A Sinner”. God the Father cannot fellowship with sin. He knew ahead of time man and woman would fall into sin. So He in His vast love for His creation and through His mighty grace used His power and created a way we could stand before Him without sin.

   The Father Himself came into the world in the body of His beloved son and over came sin. He lived a perfect life and was persecuted and sentenced to death unlawfully. At that time He took upon Himself the sins of the whole world. Through the great love He has for you He took every evil thought and every nasty deed and paid in full for them all on the cross. Then He even overcame death so we can have eternal life.

   “Wow” you say. So I am forgiven. Yes, you are but it was a free gift and just like any free gift it is only yours if you accept it. The father will not force on you even His greatest gift of love.

   Any preparations to accept this gift? No, just as you are right now, not changing any little thing you can accept the greatest gift of all. It only takes faith and that is as simple as believing what you just read and acting on it in prayer to the Father. A simple “ I want what you have for me Daddy I accept your forgiveness “ will do it. Then if you are serious you will go about getting to know your Father better through prayer and reading and hearing His word, and you will grow, discovering all the good things God has for you as His child and will begin living a full fruitful life.
