What is Spiritual Renewal?

1. It is the experience of being born again

Who Renews?

1. The Holy Spirit renews - Acts 1: 4-8
2. Jesus renews - John 9: 1-41
3. The Father renews - Luke 15:11-32

Why do we want renewal?

1. Because we are spiritually dry
- Eze 37: 1-14, John 7: 37-39
2. Because we want to serve the Lord
- 1 Cor 12: 4-11
3. Because we want our Christian lives to be vibrant
- John 14: 15-17, 16: 12-15
4. Because we want to see the work of God in a greater dimension in our lives
- John 14: 12-14, Mark 16: 14-18

How do we receive renewal?

1. Through repentance - Acts 2: 37-39
2. Through waiting - Luke 24: 45-49, Acts 1: 4
3. Through prayer - Acts 1: 14, 2: 1-4
4. Through the laying of hands
- 1 Tim 4: 14, 2 Tim 1: 6
5. Through a deep desire for God to act in our lives
- Matt 7: 7-11

How do I know that I'm renewed?

1. There will be a change of attitude
- Gal 5: 16-26
2. There will be a new experience of power
- Acts 6: 3
3. There will be a deep assurance of God's approval
- Rom 8: 16-17
4. There will be a hunger for God's Word
- Psalm 119: 9-11
5. There will be love in your heart for those in need of the Saviour - Matt 9: 35-38, 20: 29-34
