Internet Explorer is unable to locate the site http://xxx.xxxxx.xxx/ a connection to the server could not be established

What to do
  • Make sure you are typing the address correct!
  • Clear Hist/Temporary internet files.
  • Ensure the DNS#'s are correct (if your ISP has you put them in)
  • Try a Different access number
  • if MSIE5.x click on Tools, Internet Options, Connection, LAN settings, Uncheck ANYTHING that is checked(unless you are ON a LAN) Click Ok. Click on Settings, and make sure NOTHING is checked there either.
  • HTTP 1.1 Proxy is checked,
    msie5.x: Tools, Internet Options, Advanced, near the bottom make sure HTTP1.1 proxy is not checked.
    msie4.x: View, Internet Options, Advanced, HTTP1.1 proxy is not checked
  • Corrupted Winsock.dll/Wsock32.dll files
  • Corrupted TCP/IP (Slow Connection Speeds)
