goodness

1. Make haste in doing good, restrain your mind from evil. Whosoever is slow in doing good, his mind delights in evil.
2. As from a heap of flowers many a garland is made even so many good deeds should be done by one born a mortal.
3. Do not think lightly of good, saying: It will not come to me. Even as a water-pot is filled by the falling of drops, so the wise man, gathering it drop by drop, fills himself with good.
4. Be tolerant among the intolerant, gentle among the violent, and free from greed among the greedy.
5. Not to do any evil, to cultivate good, to purity one's mind, this is the teaching of the Buddhas.
