1. | Make haste in doing good, restrain your mind from evil. Whosoever is slow in doing good, his mind delights in evil. |
2. | As from a heap of flowers many a garland is made even so many good deeds should be done by one born a mortal. |
3. | Do not think lightly of good, saying: It will not come to me. Even as a water-pot is filled by the falling of drops, so the wise man, gathering it drop by drop, fills himself with good. |
4. | Be tolerant among the intolerant, gentle among the violent, and free from greed among the greedy. |
5. | Not to do any evil, to cultivate good, to purity one's mind, this is the teaching of the Buddhas. |
