Sarvanivarana-Viskambhin
(Chu Gai Zhang in Chinese; Dribpa Namsel or Dripa Namsel in Tibetan)
Bodhisattva - His name can be translated as the remover or the Purifier
of Hindrances. Nivarana means hindrances and these hindrances are:
strong desires, hatred, slothfulness, arrogance, and doubts. He is an
attendant bodhisattva of the karma family of Amoghasiddhi Buddha, the
Northern Dhyani Buddha.
In Baiya Monastery (Tibetan: Pewar), Sarvanivarana-Viskambhin is the fourth central figure in its scripture hall.
