Biography: |
Le Hoan was the commander of the capital's guards of the Dinh Dynasty. After the Dinh Emperor and his son were assasinated, his youngest son was only 6 years old. At the same time, once they heard that the Dinh Emperor was dead, the Chinese (Sung Dynasty) began to mobilize troops to invade Vietnam. Le Hoan was ordered to command troops to repel the Chinese. His generals and troops thought that even if they had won the war, no body would reward them, since the new Emperor was only 6 years old, what did he know? Therefore, they requested that Le Hoan took over the throne and led them to battle. Le Hoan then proclaimed himself Dai Hanh Emperor.
