This year's MET opera marathon was a very interesting one. As a matter of fact it was the best so far. It started on Thursday, October 25th, 2001 with Idomeneo featuring Placido Domingo, then on Friday, the premiere of the new production of Luisa Miller, and on Saturday a double-bill, the matinee La Boheme with Ramon Vargas and on to Norma with Jane Eaglen and Dolora Zajick. Idomeneo was the best performance, Luisa Miller and Norma were at a lower level but equally enjoyable, only Boheme disappointed.
