We woke up at about 7:30 am and started to sort our stuff out ready to leave. We had breakfast and began to strike camp. Each Patrol took down their own tents and everybody helped to dismantle the main tent and its contents. Once our tent was down and our pegs were sorted out, I had the pleasure of throwing out our ground sheet (which had previously leaked all over my rucksack and lay mat). After all this was done and the things had been loaded onto the coach, we wandered into town and had a final look around before leaving (the few people who had any remaining money spent it). We were actually waiting for Dave Geddes’ Mum to come and pick him up. After we had given up hope of his Mum arriving, we decided to take him on the coach, back to the UK. Just as we were about to get on the coach Dave’s Mum and family arrived and took him away.

We all got onto the coach and began our long journey home. We watched films on the coach TV. These included Top Gun, The Jungle Book, and the Blues Brothers (again). After Top Gun we stopped to have lunch (at this point Graham Toole found it necessary to throw a can of Coke down the steps and out of the coach). We stopped later to change drivers and for a WC stop and then continued. Later still (in the middle of the ‘Blues Brothers’ we stopped for petrol and for dinner. Dinner consisted of our packed half pack of biscuits, a can of coke and anything else that we managed to get from the leftover boxes. We continued..... After this stop the TV was turned off and everyone went to sleep. We took the ferry at 3am, everyone was really tired, and finally we got back to the hut at 8:00 am.
