VirtualPC Setup on Target Machine: continued

There are several steps to configuring VirtualPC on the target machine.

• Setup the MS Windows Networking Settings

  From the MS Windows "Start" menu, "Settings" sub-menu, choose the "Control Panel" item.

From the "Control Panel" folder, open (double-click) the "Network" control panel.

Select the "TCP/IP" network component as appropriate.

Click on the "Properties" button.

Click on the "IP Address" tab.

Click on the "Specify an IP address" button.

Enter a unique IP address for the target machine (different from the Mac OS IP address). Enter the appropriate subnet mask (for a private network, will typically be 255.255.255.0).

Optionally, click on the "Gateway" tab. Enter the IP address of your network's router (if any), and click the "Add" button.

Click the "OK" button to save all changes.

If you made changes to the network setup, MS Windows will require you to restart the target virtual machine. Respond appropriately.
