One of the reasons we decided to create a web site concerning Ti-83 basic programming was because it was for a class. Another reason was because this site would compete in a Business Professionals of America event. However, the driving reason that we have done TI-83 programming was because our other topic was too farfetched to complete (it was to be a tutorial on how to create an online tutorial) and because we (me Lue Her, and my partner Andy Becker) both think that teaching others how to program for the Ti-83, especially high school students, would be a beneficial skill to have.

Programming can improve one's problem solving skills, logic, and ego. There is a lot of structure and planning when you design and write a program; it's not just about knowing what commands do what--it's about knowing why the commands do what they do, and how to implement them efficiently.

Of course, there are other sites provide Ti-83 programming tutorials, but we feel that our site, being aimed directly at and only at Ti-83 programming, will effectively provide a no-hassle learning experience that will teach a novice how to program from the ground up.
