Your web site is wonderful! I just lost my angel Missa Mo Philpot, 3 months ago. She was 14. Now I am losing my other doxie to cancer. Her name is Tina Marie Philpot, she is 13. I'm heart broken and feel empty! I can't stop the cancer on my Tina even wit all the treatment she is going through. It is just a matter of time before the cancer forces me to do what I hate the most. How do you explain to your dog that she can't live anymore! My Missa was so ill she didn't even know where she was when she when t heaven but Tima is in her full mind and will know and feel the terror of what is going to happen and I will be destroyed. God, I feel so lost and terrible! I'm so sorry but I feel like I am losing my mind. Losing 2 of my pride and joys is to much for me to bare. I feel empty! Patty in Salem, Oregon

I fully understand what you mean about having that special connection with an extraordinary pet - I, too, have loved all my pets, dogs or cats, but my sweet, beautiful Sly boy (Turkish Angora kitty, lost to bone cancer in August, 1985 (almost 14 years ag )) was something else indeed. Of course, I blamed myself when I lost him (after his second surgery in a little more than a year, he was too weak to survive and succumed to the effects of the anesthesia), and my grief was unbelievable. I still miss him t rribly think of him each and every day. Sometimes I dream of him at night and wake to think that I can feel his soft little paw touching my face in that special way he had when he knew his Mom needed a lift. I have been blessed with five beautiful kitti s in my life now (the oldest of which was just a youngster when Sly crossed over the Rainbow Bridge), and one of those babies is as special and sweet and loving as my Sly. I love them all, but my Gabbi boy (born on St. Patrick's Day, 1992, with one olde sister, Paddi) is my special boy. Paddi was the first born, and is a tiny, not even 5 pounds, little lady, but Gabbi, born second (& you would think since he was the runt he would be the smallest) was a big boy right from the start and he tops out at a ittle over 20 pounds (all muscle) now. I was there when they were born, I cut the cords, I wiped the mucus from their noses and helped them take their first breath - my heart was completely gone from the first second. There was no way I would every cons der finding homes for them. BUT - I still miss my Sly. He was my special boy, my sweetest baby, and I will cherish him and miss him until we are together again one day. God bless you and your Tasha, and take comfort in the knowledge that you will be joi ed again one day.

What a weep session I have just had. Of course, I have had several pets over the years and loved them all dearly. Even the death of a small water snail upset me (I wondered if I neglected it somehow.) The two most special to me were a buff cocker spaniel like no other I have ever seen (he was larger than most) and a Norwegian Forest cat. Patrick was about 2 when I got him and Tigger was a kitten I got a few months later. They were always together at ome. My daughter said once "I don't know who Patrick loves more, you or that cat." Sadly they both died at the age of 8 - within months of each other. I wish I could have them cloned. Moira Eicholtz

Your tribute to your companion Tasha was simply beautiful. Tasha bears a striking resemblence to our Rocky who will be 11 on Tax Day. Neat page. Neater dog. I once had a dog where I could lay out srones on a board in front of him then go behind him and say "count" and he would bark once for each stone then turn to me for a treat. Tasha sounds like the same level of intelligence.

Dear Tasha, I wish I had known you. I live with Cheryl and Joe now, since they found me at your Doctor's office. I was 2 and a half years old, and I used to live outside, on the end of a chain. But now I've learned alot of new stuff, like how to live i a house with people and cats, and not to beg for food, or steal food from those kitties, Spot and Slinky-Smallcat. (Well, I still do some things I'm not supposed to do.) You could have taught me some things! Those guys all love me alot, and I know how much they love you.
