Very nice web site. My family has been in bocas for several generations. I do go there to visit at least once a year, my husband goes more often. What are your thoughts of the progress of bocas? All the land prices and homes going up and up. What type of population increase has there been to warrant these prices hikes? Just curious on your thoughts. Also what type of retirement community is there? from what I saw - canadians -italians - americans. I visited Mangrove Inn last year in february. Had some great dives with Guiermo?? Don't know the right way to wright it. However like to say hello to all you people. I had a really great time over there. My parents thought the cabins could have been a l ttle bit more cleaned and the food a little bit more varied. Eco-lodge is not a synonime of dust in the cabins and eating grilled fish every day! But Bocas must be a great place to live. Hope the huricane Mitch didn't damaged too badly the region. I grew up in Panama and recall as a very young boy being "dropped off" by my father at a friend of his while he pusued some business for a few days. His friend ran a general store of sorts in the San Blas islands. The store and home was over the water on tilts similar to your house. I remember falling to sleep in a hamock to the musical sound of the ocean below me. When my father returned he became a bit alarmed in that he could not locate me immediatly. I had to be pointed out as one of the naked brown children out in a cayuca laughing and having a great time fishing with barbed spears. Like your home, a paradise... I enjoyed your creative web site. I was wowed by the beauty of your islands in 3/96. It's good to see your fine page on the web. When I bring my kids in a couple of years, I will look you up. One question that I havn't been able to get answered in the USA: Do you know the formal or technical name for the tree whose fruit is a long curved seed pod with a sweet white pulp and is called "guaba/guava"(?).
