Things have been moving rapidly since I first posted this web page in July.  I am now looking for land in Missouri or South-Eastern Iowa. There are a lot of reasons for the acceleration of my plans, but I'll go into that at some other time.  In any case, until I've located a plot of land I'm happy with, there won't be much new on this page.

THE "FARM"
Originally, I was thinking of looking for a small, 5 to 10 acre, piece of land.  However, I've gotten a bit more ambitious in this regard.  A lot of the land I've been looking at is in the 40 to 70 acre range.  I'm looking for at least 10 acres combined tillable/pasture, and at least that much wooded.  I'd settle for 20 acres split up this way, but some of the larger parcels look awfully good, too.  It's going to boil down to what I can afford to pay for in 5 years or less.
