Census of Population 1841-91

Censuses have been carried out every 10 years since 1801.Names of individuals were not included in the censuses of 1801-31. They are normally open for inspection by the general public after 100 years, so those currently available are those from 1841-91. They cover England, Wales, the Channel Isllands and the Isle of Man. They are available on microfilm or microfiche. The 1881 census has been extensively indexed and the index is available on microfiche courtesy of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
