Hi there. My name is Fiesty. My human pets are gone for awhile and I managed to escape from my apartment and worked my way up to the keyboard, so I thought I would tell you a little about myself. Bill had some suff on here but I erased it and will tell you my side of his story.

I was sitting captive in a pet store in Zionsville, IN one day when this guy comes in looking for fish. He had lost a ferret to illness a few months before and had sworn never to get another. Wanting desperatly to get out of this place, I put on my best behavior, preened a little and adopted that cute, adorable kit face, as I was only 6 weeks old, and kept making noise until I got his attention. How could he resist that face and that loving look?

At first it didn't work, so I kept at it every time he walked by. Finally I succeeded and was put it a small, cramped box with no windows. Get me out of here, I yelled. I was kept in there for 30 minutes while he drove home. Of course he would open the top now and then to check on me and try to calm me down.

We arrived at my new home and was immediately put into my 2 story apartment. He told me to get used to the new surroundings for awhile before I met the rest of the family. It's a nicer apartment than I had, but I wanted to get out and roam and check things out.

Later that evening, I got taken out and introduced myself to the other members of the household. I was much smaller than rest of them and decided that I had best let them know I was here to stay and show them who was the boss.

Oreo, the largest of their cats, was the easiest to intimidate. He's big, but no brains. The rest of them came to sniff and then, not wanting to play, jumped to high ground. If I had longer legs I would've gone right after them. I ran around and checked out the rest of the house. Not bad.

Bill and Jean, his mate, were busy making last minute attempts at ferret-proofing the place. Don't they realize that I can get where I want to go, one way or another.

I went under a door and into a whole new world. Suddenly, a scream. I stopped and looked at the source of that infernal noise. It was the daughter. She didn't realize I could squeeze under her door and was not expecting me.

Anyway, time went on and I, of course, grew very dear to their hearts, except the daughter whom I still scare from time to time, and have finally gotten them trained like I want them. I don't get the run of the house, to their knowledge anyway, while they are at work. I am very good at escaping my apartment though and often when they come home, I will be out keeping an eye on things and protecting the place. It frustrates them to no end and can not figure out how I do it. I leave everything as it was you know, locks still locked, etc. Am I the Houdini incarnate? Hmmmmmm, never know.

My favorite way to irritate them is to scratch the litter box and dig at the door when I want out and they are busy doing other things. They can beg and plead all they want, but I don't quit until I get my way. Sometimes I will settle for my favorite treat, Sugar Pops. I get those when I do some silly tricks they get a kick out of, or if I'm tired an lay down somewhere, or just plain hiding from them and they squeak some toy they bought, I go running, because I know if I do, they'll give me a Sugar Pop or two, or three. Depends how cute I look or if I sit up and beg.

I hate baths and having nails trimmed, but they insist every week to give me a bath or shower. If it makes them happy then I guess I don't mind that much.

Oh oh, I think I hear them coming in the door so I better sign off for now. If any other ferrets are out there and capable of typing, send me a message and I'll answer it next time I get out.

Here are some pictures of me for you to look at.

Just escaped again and found the keyboard handy so thought I would let you know thatBill is bringing me home a baby brother today. His name is Dakota and he is only 6 months old. Will I ever have my paws full with this new youngster. I had best teach him how things are done around here and who is the boss.

Dakota is alot of fun. He's pretty awkward though. His back end doesn't always go the same diretion his front end goes.

Spends most of his time stealing shoes and dragging them off somewhere to hide them. Too heavy for me, I prefer car keys and their back scratchers.

Well, it is now August of 2000, and we have another new addition to our home. She is a two year old Sable and her given name is Jill, but I think my human is going to change her name, soon as he can think of a good one for her.

Anyway, she came to us the first day of August and she came loaded with her own clothes and everything. Pics will follow and these you have to see. Jean, the other human, went out and bought us a Harley Davidson motorcylce to go with one of the outfits Jill came with. She's another girl but the previous owner bough her boy clothes, go figure. So Bill and Jean decided to dress us up and take some pics. They made me put on a sailor hat and a Bomber Jacket. They dressed Dakota and Jill up in the Biker jacket and put them by the Harley. Dakota hated dressing up like Santa Claws the most I think, and the Reindeer antlers were a bit too much, even for him. They dressed Jill up in a tuxedo shirt and top hat too. That was about all we could stand though and took off for parts unknown.

Dakota got even with them though and took one of Jean's shoes and hid it and they couldn't find it for days. He hid it in the drawers under the waterbed, right next to the wall, and they had to take the whole waterbed apart to get it back. Good thing they were changing the room around for another new houseguest, Bear, anyway. Oh, Bear is their new Rottie puppy. They thought their other Rottie, Nikita needed a playmate since she is too big to play with us anymore.

Anyway, as soon as they load them check out the pics of dress up day. You'll notice we weren't too happy about the whole thing.

Keep checking back, we'll be doing something that will get caught on camera I'm sure.
