IntroductionI am currently working as an OO Designer and Java developer for Eyron Software Solutions (www.eyron.com). I am very content with this position and am not actively seeking to change employment.
I have experience in developing Java and XML based web applications, algorithm research and design, and the application of modern techniques to real world problems. Prior to coming to Israel I was working as the lead analyst/ programmer for a small online games company Historical Engineering in Cambridge, UK. In that job I was developing a multi-user strategy game, using principally Java but also using HTML and JavaScript/JScript extensively, as well as SuperCard (which is similar to HyperCard). During my 14 Months at Historical Engineering I wrote approximately 28,000 lines of Java code which was at the beta testing stage when I left. Before starting employment at Historical Engineering I was working on my PhD The Use of Quadratic Interpolation in Direct Search Optimisation in the department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics, Cambridge University. My PhD is in Computational Mathematics. Specifically I was designing derivative free optimisation algorithms. For my research I wrote a great deal of code in Matlab and also in C. Previous to coming to Cambridge I worked as a research assistant at the Queensland University of Technology, investigating automatic solutions to school time tabling problems. During my research and work I have programmed in C, Pascal, Fortran, Java, JavaScript/JScript, Matlab and various other languages. I have studied and implemented a great number of computational methods including: differential equations; optimisation; computational number theory; simulated annealing; dynamic programming; combinatorial methods and operations research. |
