Pictures of our strawbale cabin under construction

Here I am taking a break after 8 hours of lifting bales into the 10 foot walls, and pinning them with bamboo rebar. I am sitting next to one of the windows on the North side of the cabin. I chose to make these windows small as there is no solar heat gain from these windows. You can see the box beams on either side of the window. We will use cob plaster to softly curve the sides of the window opening. These pictures were taken December 1998.

View from West Side, prior to finishing the strawbale section of the wall.
