Guidelines for Preparing a Project Proposal

Please note that the 1% for Development Fund, Vienna is a small voluntary group and we cannot enter into correspondence on or acknowledge receipt of project proposals.

Applicants to the 1% for Development Fund who receive no reply within eight months should please consider their application to be unsuccessful.

Before preparing a project proposal for the 1% for Development Fund, please carefully read our Guidelines for Projects. 

In your proposal, would you please answer the following questions:

1. Where is the project located exactly? Give the name of the village/town, city/district, province/state, country.

2. Which organization is making the request for funds?

3. What is the aim of the project? Why do you want to carry out this project and what do you hope to achieve?

4. Who is intended to benefit from the project? Approximately how many people, and which population group?

5. What is the total budget for the project? How much are you requesting from the 1% for Development Fund? If this is a part project, how will the rest of the project be funded?

6. What exactly would the 1% for Development Fund contribution be used for? Please provide an itemized breakdown of the costs.

7. Who is actually going to carry out the project? Yourselves, local inhabitants, daily paid workers or other persons? Or a combination of these groups?

8. Who is responsible for the project? Please give full name(s) and function(s) in block letters.

9. What is your full address, the address of your bank and all the details of your bank account?

10. How did you hear about the 1% for Development Fund, Vienna?

Please take note that if your project is approved for financing by the Fund, you will be required to submit progress reports and a consolidated final report, including a financial statement.

The Assembly of members of the 1% Development Fund, Vienna meets twice a year, in June and December, to decide on several projects to support from among those that meet its criteria for consideration (see Guidelines for Projects).
