GUIDELINES FOR PROJECT SELECTION
The Fund will support projects in the least developed areas of the world, in order to reach the most disadvantaged members of the population.
- Projects should have potential for self-sufficiency and promote self-reliance. They should not require the continuing support of the Fund.
- Project proposals should show sound planning.
- The objectives of the projects should take into account local conditions and resources on the one hand and match the community's goals on the other.
- Requests should be clearly articulated and demonstrate that the organizers have identified what they want to achieve and how they intend to go about it.
- The contribution of the Fund might finance a complete project or a specific component of a project, e.g. cost of equipment.
- Salaries and fees, vehicles, computers and livestock are generally not financed by the Fund.
- Preference will be given to environmentally sound projects.
- Each project will be judged on its own merits. However, as a general rule, projects or project components should not exceed the equivalent of US $5,000.
Once a project has been accepted for funding, the project manager or liaison person should maintain contact with the Fund and send reports, at least one interim report and a consolidated final report, including a financial statement.
