This is Lucky. Lucky is in desperate need of your help. She is a 4 year old mixed breed dog found close to death from starvation and exhaustion. A very caring motorist, Michelle Franolich, found her just as she collapsed on the side of the highway. She fed her a leftover pastry and waited with her until an Harwinton animal control officer came to relieve her. Lucky has been taken to Dr. George Nashe for medical treatment. Both the animal control officer and the veterinary assistant said the dog was in "horrible, emaciated condition". She was "near death, completely skeletal". This is a dog that should weigh between 30-35 lbs who was found at 16 1/2 lbs. She was close to kidney failure and had contracted heartworm.
Lucky will need several months of recovery time at Dr. Nashe's including treatment for malnutrition and for the heartworm. Lucky's medical bills are mounting and she really needs your help. We have started a collection of tax-deductible donations to help pay for Lucky's bills. Please consider making a donation to help pay for Lucky's medical bills. Checks can be made out to C.A.P. and mailed to P.O. Box 1496, Litchfield, CT 06759. Please make a notation that the money is for Lucky at George Nashe's office.
"I can't imagine in my mind that situation that would allow a dog to get so bad," Nashe said. And just think, "How many are in the places that nobody knows about?"
LUCKY THANKS YOU!!

A note from Lucky...
Dear Friends -
Thank you for the "helping hand". Your generous donations of time and money have helped me receive the care I needed. I feel much better now.
This is me now. I'm recovering from my ordeal quite well and look forward to finding a nice home where I can be loved and cared for.
