: I told you I'd make one didn't I? DIDN'T I?? And did you belive me?? NOOOOOO!!! Well anyways.. enjoy!!

Mission 1: Attack on Mako Reactor No. 1



As a hired mercenary for the rebel group Avalanche, Cloud helps Barret and his team try to plant a bomb on Mako Reactor No. 1 to try and slow down the draining of the Planet's life Source.


  The first two guards after getting off the train are no match for Cloud as the mission is underway. (Note-Check them both for Potions). This is one of the very few times in the game that Cloud has to fight alone but all of the enemies in front of the Reactor are pretty easy enough.

  The Security doors that lead inside the Reactor are locked so talk to Biggs and Jessie who break the security code for you. Pick up a Phoenix Down in the right control room before you go inside the elevator.

  Take the elevator down inside the Reactor and Jessie will give you the lowdown on how to jump on and off ladders. Grab a Potion sitting just in front of Jessie's sentry position. (Note-all through the game Cloud and his group will find very useful things lying around on the ground, so if you see anything that sticks out pick it up) (Battle Note-most of the enemies around are machines so use Bolt on them for a greater hit %).

  After going even deeper inside the Mako Reactor you'll see your very first Save Point. Make sure and save your guy now because there is a pretty tough boss coming up.

  Before you go to the computer pick up the Restore Materia lying in front of it. When Cloud Sets the Bomb you'll be thrown into a boss fight with Guard Scorpion.

  Guard Scorpion- Level 12, HP 800, MP 0: Have Cloud cast Bolt while having Barret just use his normal attacks. After a while he'll lift his tail up where Cloud will warn Barret not to attack. Wait until he lowers his tail again or he'll hit you with a Tail Laser that can take up to 75 HP to both fighters. Other than that he shouldn't be much trouble.

  After defeating Guard Scorpion Cloud has only 10 minutes to get out of the Reactor before the bomb goes off. If you don't just sit there with your thumb up your butt that should be plenty of time.

 Climb up the ladders and you'll see that Jessie has her foot stuck. Take the time to help her out or you won't be able to get past the security doors. When you get back to the doors talk to Jessie and Biggs again to unlock them. Cloud and his party get out of the Reactor just before the bomb blows.

Congrats on your first successful mission with Avalanche but remember that's just one Reactor there are 7 more in Midgar.

The Escape

The Guards are now out in full force. Can Cloud make it back to the Train Station before he gets caught?

  After escaping the Reactor, Barret has the team split up and meet back up at the Sector 8 Train Station. Follow Barret up the ladder and off screen.

  Seems like a Flower Seller got knocked down in all the commotion. Take the time to talk to her and mabey she'll sell you a flower. (Note-being nice or mean when talking to others may change the outcome of the game later on). After talking to her follow her off screen.

  Nothing much here except a few people to talk to so grab a Potion before moving on to the streets where a bunch of guards are waiting to ambush Cloud. You can either fight them or run away. I'd say fight them just for the point of getting your levels up. But no matter how many Cloud takes out they get him surrounded but before they can move in Cloud makes a daring leap onto the moving train below.

  Barret's pretty pissed at Cloud for being late and then acting all cocky about it. Follow Barret into the passenger cars and have Jessie tell you about the Midgar rail system. The ride back to Sector 7 goes smoothly. When they get there Barret tells everyone to meet back at the hideout to plan their next mission.


Sector 7 Slums

  As soon as you get to the Sector 7 slums Barret will clear out the Seventh Heaven Bar. Look around for a bit and then go inside to talk to Cloud's childhood friend Tifa. If you bought a flower you can give it to Tifa or Barret's daughter Marlene. Talk to the rest of Avalanche and when you try to leave Barret will barge in and call a meeting downstairs (just use the pinball machine as an elevator).

  While down there Cloud can watch about the bombing on the TV. Talk to Barret and him and Cloud will get into a heated argument about Cloud's past involvement with the Shinra, before it goes to far Tifa comes in to cool everything off. Go back upstairs and try to leave but Tifa will stop you to have a flashback on the promise that they made when they were children. Tifa has a little thing for Cloud and doesn't want him walking out of her life again so easily.

  Barret comes back up and gives Cloud his fee for the bombing mission of 1500 Gil. They again have a fight about the payment of the next mission but Barret finally agrees to give up 2000 Gil.

  When Cloud wakes up the next morning Barret will then ask you on how to use Materia. So after to you tell him about it or to forget it go visit the weapon shop to pick up some supplies and to visit the beginners hall. There you'll get a quick lesson about Save points, treasure boxes, and limit breaks and anything else you'll want to know.

  When your all done with that leave Sector 7 for the Station to start your next mission.


Mission 2: Attack on Mako Reactor No 5

The Flower Girl


Haunted by a voice inside his head Cloud wakes up to find himself alive and resting on a bed of crushed flowers with the Flower Girl leaning over him.


  As soon as you get on the train Tifa will explain to you that the Shinra have their security check points on because of the bombing the night before so you have three minutes before you have to jump off.

  Looks like Cloud's Fake ID was faulty the security alarm has gone off early. Now you only have 10-15 seconds to move on to the next cart before you'll be forced to jump off (it's not big deal if you don't make it you'll just have a longer walk on the tracks). If you want to take the time you can get some items by talking to the other passengers on the carts.

  In the first car, talk to the bum in the back and he'll give you a Phoenix Down. In the next car talk to the guy in the front and he'll give you a Hi-Potion. In the third car a guy will sometimes try to pickpocket you, you can either force him to give it back (which takes some time) or just forget about it and move on to the last car where you'll meet up with the rest of your party in disguise. Talk to Tifa and Cloud will jump off the train with her and Barret.

  Now that your on the tracks just head up until you see a gate with glowing bars. Since you can't get past that without setting off an alarm there is a chute to your left which leads into a vent that you can use to get inside a warehouse.

  You should have a pretty easy time getting around this Reactor because the design is very similar to that of Mako Reactor No 1. Jump down the Slide and head into the reactor core (the door at the bottom of the structure). On your way to the computer at the Reactor, Cloud will have a flashback about Tifa mourning her dead father. After Cloud recovers go to the computer and Cloud will set the bomb (there's no time limit this time). Climb back up the ladders to the place where you slid down and climb up the structure to the door at the top and take the elevator up.

  Enter the control room and you, Tifa, and Barret will have to hit the control pannell at the same time to open the security doors. (this shouldn't be that hard just press the O button until you all hit the pannell at the same time).

  As the party tries to escape they are cut off by Shinra SOLDIERS. Here you'll meet President Shinra himself where like all typical villains leaves you to fight against his little toy.

Air Buster- Level 15, HP 1200, MP 0: You'll have this guy surrounded but that doesn't make this battle much easier. Use your Limit Breaks to his back if you can. But if that's not possible just use your normal attacks and Bolt as much as possible. (Note-your hits will be much more powerful when your enemies back is turned to you). You'll get a Titan Bangle when you win.

  As soon as you win the Air Buster will explode leaving Cloud hanging on the edge for his dear life. There's nothing Tifa and Barret can do. When the reactor explodes Cloud falls down to the Slums below.

  It seems like Cloud fell through the roof of an old church and landed on a bed of flowers which cushioned his fall. The Flower Girl he met earlier while escaping from the Shinra troops introduces herself as Aeris and hires him as a bodyguard to take him home because one of the Turks has just arrived.

  Reno of the Turks was hired to kidnap Aeris and bring her to Shinra. Escape through the back of the church and up the stars and Aeris will follow except when a guard starts shooting she slips and falls to the bottom. You can tell her to Run, fight them herself, or hold on a minute and go to the rafters to push barrels off to hopefully land on the guards. You'll have to do this three times and Aeris will come up and join you up on the rafters.

  After escaping through a hole on the roof Aeris will explain her dilemma and have Cloud take her back to her house in Sector 5.


  Just head north to enter the Sector 5 Slums and take the time to talk to everyone there. Aeris house is just to the right. (There's a sleeping boy in a house on the east side of Sector 5 who has some hidden money in a drawer, but it's only a measly 5 Gil so its up to you if you want to make him cry).

  In the Garden around Aeris house pick up an Ether and a Cover Materia before going inside.

  Once inside you'll meet Aeris mother and she'll ask you to sneak out in the middle of the night so Aeris won't get her heart broken. When sneaking out don't run but walk and there's a squeaky part on the floor right in front of Aeris room so be sure to avoid that.

  After sneaking out head to Sector 6 but wait Aeris is already there and you'll be forced to take her along with you. When in Sector 6 Cloud and Aeris will take a break where she'll talk about her old boyfriend. After a while you'll see Tifa in the back of a Wagon drug by a Chocobo headed for Sector 7. Cloud's pretty curious where Tifa was headed so he and Aeris follow it to the Wall Market.

  This is a pretty big town but talk to everybody and you'll figure out that Tifa has been taken to Don Corneo's mansion (it's the very northern building in Wall Market). The guy there won't let Cloud through because the Don will only allow girls to enter. Aeris starts cracking up and talks Cloud into dressing up in drag to help her look for Tifa.

  Each night the Don picks one out of three ladies to "join" him for the night so even though Cloud can get into the mansion with just a dress and a wig if you want him to be picked by the Don he needs to look his best by gathering certain items around town.

  First Cloud needs a dress so go into the dress shop which is in the the top left building in the lower portion of the town. Talk to the person who works there and he'll tell you that his father who makes the dresses has lost his lust for it and spends his days drinking at the bar. Go to the tavern which is in the upper part on the left side and talk to the owner of the dress shop who is hunched over on the bar. Aeris will tell him about Cloud's desire to be in drag so tell him to make you a silk dress (something that feels soft and shimmers).

  Now for the wig go to the local gym which is in the upper part of Wall Market and talk to Big Bro is is also into crossdressing. But he won't just let you have it you have to beat another of the muscles heads a doing squats. Beat him to get the blond wig, but if you tie you get a dyed wig and if you lose you get a wig that's been kept in a very nasty place.

  Now to make Cloud look extra appealing your going to need some extra items. For the Cologne talk to the guy who looks like he's about to piss his pants in the tavern. He'll tell you that some lady has been in there all day so go to the restaurant and order any meal just make sure to tell them you like it and you'll get a pharmacy coupon. Go to the pharmacy and purchase some Digestive and give it to the lady in the bathroom and she'll give you some Sexy Cologne.

  Next head over to the Materia shop which is right across the street from the dress shop. The guy there talks to Cloud man to man about how he hates the owner of the Inn and wants to know what he sells in those vending machines. Tell him you'll find out and spend the night at the Inn. Buy the most expensive thing in the machine and bring it back to the guy in the Materia shop. As thanks he'll give you a Diamond Tiara.

  Now check out the Honey Bee Inn which is to the right of the entrance. You can't get in without a membership card so head back up and talk to the guy who can't seem to make up his mind and he'll give you his own membership card. Go inside and before you pick a room why not peek into some of the occupied rooms?? In one you'll see President Shinra doing something very "odd", in another you'll see a stuffed mog with cait on his head jumping up and down (wonder what he's doing there?). Go into one of the unoccupied rooms. In the &$#% room Cloud will have a psychotic experience and end up with some Lingerie. In the group room Cloud will take a bath with some ambiguously gay guys and end up with some Bikini Briefs. Before you leave head into the girls dressing room and have them put some Makeup on Cloud's face.

  Now go back to the dress shop and change into your new clothes. Cloud is looking pretty sexy now and Aeris changes into a different dress herself. Now why don't you go around town and check out all the guys reactions?? Head on up to Don Corneo's Mansion and you'll be able to pass. Tifa is in the basement so after talking to her one of the Don's stooges will lead you to line up in front of Corneo himself. If you got all of the items Cloud should be chosen to be the Don's date for the night. After a bit of chatting Tifa and Aeris will bust in and force Corneo to tell them that he's been hired by the Turks to find out where the Avalanche Hideout is and that the President plans to destroy the pillar support to crush Sector 7 completely. Go behind the bed to pick up a Hyper. Before you can leave Don opens a trap door which causes Cloud, Aeris, and Tifa to fall into the sewers to play with his pet Aps.

Aps- Level 18, HP 1800, MP 0: Aps strongest attack is the Sewer Tsunami which hurts him more than your party. Cast fire, use your normal attacks, and Cloud's Limit break Cross-Slash to paralyze for a bit.

  After beating Aps you'll need to crawl out of the sewers to get back to Sector 7 Slums in time to warn them of the President's plan. Some items you'll need to pick up on your way including a Steal Materia. Once you climb out of the sewers save your guy and make your way through the maze of trains by looking for girders and gratings to help you go through, over, and around the train wrecks. (In the train graveyard keep wandering around until you meet up with the Eligor and steal a Striking Staff- Aeris strongest weapon at this point).

  In the next section just hop into the two trains to move them so you can climb up the top and and go left into the Train Station.


The Pillar Attack

Cloud and his Party have reached the Pillar. Can they stop the Shinra before they blow up the pillar to crush Sector 7 below.



Sector 7 is completely destroyed and the Shinra have taken Aeris for their own plans. Cloud, Tifa, and Barret attempt to infiltrate the Shinra Building to take her back.


  When Cloud reaches the Pillar you'll see that Barret and the Rest of Avalanche have already started the assault on Shinra. Wedge get's shot and falls down to you.While Aeris tends to him get some supplies from the store owner. Tifa will than ask Aeris to get Marlene out of Sector 7. Climb up the tower and take the time to talk to the injured Avalanche members on the way. As soon as you get the top supply your group with Barret .

 Reno is there setting the bomb and when he presses the button there is nothing Cloud can do to deactivate it.

Reno- Level 50, HP 25000, MP 200: Reno's best attack is to form a Pyramid around each of your party members. If all of your party is inside a Pyramid the game is over so make sure to attack your party member if he's inside the Pyramid to break it. Just keep your HP up and use Fire and Ice along with your limit breaks.

  After Reno Makes a break for it Tseng, the head Turk, makes an appearance and introduces his guest, Aeris. Aeris tells Tifa that Marlene is all right before Tseng Pimp slaps her and they escape as the Pillar above begins to explode.

  Things looks grim until Barret finds a wire that sets the stage for them to make a daring escape.

  After the pillar crashes Cloud, Barret, and Tifa take a break to calm down in the old playground. After Barret shows his hatred for Shinra, Cloud goes off by himself but before he can go very far Tifa and Barret stop him to mount a rescue attempt. Grab the Sense Materia and head on over to Aeris house and her mother, Elmyra. She'll tell you about Aeris getting taken by the Turks and the truth about her past as the last living Ancient and also the fact that she isn't Aeris real mother at all.

  When Elmyra is finished Barret will go upstairs to see Marlene, go meet him and now go over to the Wall Market to talk to the guy in the Weapon's Shop. He says he has some batteries that he found laying around for sale at 300. Even though they seem worthless you have to buy them or you won't be able to reach Shinra's HQ.

  Follow the screaming kids and you'll see a "Golden Shiny Wire of Hope" as Barret puts it. Climb up and stick in the batteries where you can. The most difficult part of the climb probably is the part about catching the swinging wire. Wait until right before it makes it's full arc to the left and jump and climb all the way up to the top.


Assault on Shinra HQ


  At Shinra Headquarters you have two choices in how you want to enter. Tifa's way which is to take the back stairs and listen to Barret bitch and moan up 60 flights of stairs or you can do it Barret's way to bust on in take a faulty elevator and face a bunch of enemies on the way up. Either way they're both pretty equally annoying.

60th Floor

  This floor is covered with Guards so you have to run between the statues while the roboguards are moving. First have Cloud sneak by  the guards then he'll motion for Barret and Tifa to do the same. You'll have to repeat this again for the next half then your home free to the next floor.

61st Floor

  In the lounge talk to the guy wandering near the stairs. Talk to him and say "......." and he'll mistake you for a repairman to fix the stuck door and hand you a Keycard for the 62nd floor.

62nd Floor

  In the library go talk to Mayor Domino in the left cubicle he'll tell you that you have to guess his password before he'll give you a keycard that will give you access to the 63rd, 64th, and 65th floors. Since you don't have any idea on how to figure out the password the Guard outside the Mayer's cubicle will tell you but for a very costly price. To save your money the clues are in the library itself. There are four sections in the library each dealing with a certain subject. In each of these Sections one book is out of place. Say in the Science section there will be one book about Weapons. Each book has a number in front of it. For example if a book says "6 City Planning" count to the 6th letter in the title so the key letter would be L. Get each key letter from the four sections and mismatch the letters for one of the words on the Mayors list. If you guess it on the first try he'll give you an Elemental Materia.

63rd Floor

  You can skip this floor if you want but if you want to get some items here's the procedure. Your keycard will only let you open 3 doors at a time (to reset go to the computer). Open the very top door and go left, then open the door right below you and head into the left room to grab your first coupon. Climb in the vent to the center room and grab a 2nd coupon. Exit that room and open the left security door to get the 3rd coupon. Exchange them for a Star Pendant, Four Slot, and an All Materia.

64th Floor

  This is where the Gym is. Here you'll be able to rest and save your guy and remember to check out the locker room where you can find some items including a Megaphone. Cloud has no use for a Megaphone and won't take it but remember it for latter on.

65th Floor

  This puzzle is pretty simple. Just check all the treasure chests until you find one that's not locked. Inside is Midgar parts so obviously stick them in the scale model of the City in the center room. Each time you place the parts another chest will open until you finally open the chest with Keycard to the 66th floor in it.

66th Floor

  Looks like the Shinra executives are getting ready for a meeting. Cloud would love to be able to hear what they were saying but the room to it is locked. Talk to everyone there and they'll give you subtle clues. Like how the meeting room stinks or that when your in the bathroom can you hear whispering? Get it? Go to the bathroom and climb up the ventilation shaft and now you'll be able to hear the executives talk about the demolished Sector 7 and their plans for Aeris. When the meeting is over climb back down to the bathroom and go up to the 67th floor.

67th Floor

  Follow Hojo to the stock room. When Cloud looks into a specimen tank he sees the headless Torso of Jenova. When Cloud regains his cool grab a Poison Materia and go up to the next floor.

68th Floor

  You'll find Hojo talking to Aeris and getting set to begin the next experiment when Cloud bursts in to free Aeris. Hojo raises a Lion like creature into Aeris's cell. Fearing for her life Barret starts shooting at the cell where the creature jumps out to attack Hojo himself. Red XIII introduces himself and offers to help your party escape. Send either Barret or Tifa to look after Aeris and fight one of Hojo's specimens.

Sample: HOS12 and Sample: HOS12-OPT- In front of the Boss there is a few smaller creatures in front of it, they aren't too much trouble so concentrate your attacks on the boss itself. If you have Barret use his normal attacks since he has a long range weapon for everyone else use your Materia spells except for Poison. Keep your HP up especially if one of your party members is poisoned.

  Select your Party and grab the Enemy-Skill Materia that's lying in the tank. Talk to Hojo's lab assistant and he'll give you the Keycard to for 68 before taking off. Now go meet down to the 66th floor and take the elevator. Whoops looks like Rude of the Turks isn't going to let you go anywhere.

  After being taken prisoner the Turks will take your party up to see President Shinra. Shinra will explain about the company's interest in Aeris, the Cetra, the Promised land and so on. When he's finished Cloud will find himself locked up in a cell with Tifa and everyone else in their own cells nearby.

  Walk to your door and talk to everyone. When finished Cloud will wake up to see that the door to his cell is wide open and a guard is lying dead nearby. Get Tifa and the rest of the team awake. Cloud, Tifa, and Aeris will follow read along the trail of blood up to the President's office. (When you look in Jenova's cell again you'll see that it's gone).

  Inside the President's office you'll see that Shinra is also dead with a huge Masamune sticking out of his back. Palmer comes running out of nowhere and after having been subdued by Cloud and Barret says he saw Sephiroth kill the President. Just then a helicopter lands on the roof.

  Go outside to see who it is and it's non other than the President's own son Rufus. After a long speech about ruling by fear and blah blah blah Cloud will tell everyone to leave while he stays to deal with Rufus himself.

  Leaving Cloud behind the rest of the party goes downstairs where Tifa will stay behind to wait for Cloud. Use the menu to exchange your materia. Give Aeris a Lightning and a Restore and Red at least one spell materia. Take Aeris to the elevator where you'll have to fight Hundred and Heli Gunner.

Hundred Gunner- Level 18, HP 1600, MP 0: Barret is the only one who can use his regular attacks while Aeris and Red won't be able to reach. Have Aeris use her Bolt and Red his materia for attacks.

  When you defeat Hundred Gunner he'll disappear and in his place will be Heli Gunner.

Heli Gunner- Level 19, HP 1000, MP 0: Even though this is a different foe use the same technique you used to beat the Hundred Gunner. After you win you'll be rewarded with a Mythril Armlet.

  After Aeris, Barret, and Red XIII have made it down to the elevator safely the scene switches back to Cloud and Rufus. When given the chance equip Cloud with a Restore materia and a linked Elemental with a Bolt in the armor.

Rufus- Level 21, HP 500, MP 0 and Dark Nation: Take out Dark Nation first because of his Barrier and Bolt spells. If you have the Elemental-Bolt in your armor you should be invincible to it. Rufus himself isn't that difficult so just keep your HP up until Rufus quits and escapes in his helicopter.

  Down below Aeris, Barret, and Red XIII can't get out of the building because the entrance is surrounded by Shinra Soldiers. Cloud and Tifa come to the rescue by hijacking some Shinra vehicles to high-tail it out of there.


Kalm: 5 Years Ago

  As soon as Cloud get's out on the highway a squadren of Shinra SOLDIERS on their own Motorbikes quickly follow. When given the chance equip your party with a Bolt, Restore, and one with a linked Fire-Elemental in their armor.

  In this mini game it's up to Cloud to keep the SOLDIERS away from the car by knocking them down with your sword. More damage a character takes during this chase the less HP he'll have when it's over. There are two types of Shinra riders. The Orange ones go straight for the truck while the Red ones run away. Stay close to the car and make sure you know which type of rider he is before you decide to go after him.

  After a bit of this a huge machine starts chasing your party. A roadblock is keeping Cloud from escaping so your going to have to stay and fight.

Motor Ball- Level 19, HP 2600, MP 120: Quickly turn your group around before the Motor Ball runs you down to lower the damage. Hit it hard and fast with Bolt and your regular attacks. One of it's most powerful attacks is a Rolling Fire which can take around 250 HP points. Keep your HP points up and when you win you'll be rewarded with a Star Pendant.

  It's time to begin the search for Sephiroth. Barret decides it's too dangerous for everyone to travel together (where's the logic in that?) So split your party up into two groups and head Northeast to Kalm where you'll meet up later. When you arrive go into the Inn and head up the stairs to the 2nd floor where everyone is waiting. They're pretty curious about this Sephiroth guy so Cloud talks about his experience with him 5 years ago (This is the only flashback in the game where you'll be able to control Cloud).

  Cloud talks about when Sephiroth and him were on their way to Nibelheim to investigate the problem with a growing number of Monsters in the area probably due to the Mako Reactor. (You'll be able to fight with Sephiroth in your Party in the flashback).

  When they arrive Sephiroth lets Cloud go visit his friends and family the day before they head for the reactor in Mt. Nibel. Go to Tifa's house and check out her room. Go to the piano and read some sheet music. Does the melody sound familiar?? Try to play it yourself and remember the notes in case you'll want to play it again later. Go to her desk and read the note and you can explore the rest of the town like Cloud's mother's house and some stores.

  When your finished go to the Inn and rest up for the night. The next day Cloud gets to see Tifa again because she's been hired as their guide. One of the townspeople want's to get a picture of Sephiroth so pose with him and Tifa.

  On the way up the Mountain the bridge the party crosses collapses and you'll lose one of the SOLDIERS traveling with you. Guide the team through the caves and at a fountain Sephiroth will explain to Cloud and Tifa about Mako and Materia. Once at the Reactor Tifa is ordered to stay outside while Cloud and Septhiroth go inside to investigate. Inside the reactor they discover Hojo's twisted experiments in infusing too much Mako into human beings. With a slip of the tongue Cloud get's Sephiroth to understand that he was part of an experiment and that his mother Jenova is actually a thing. After Septhiroth throws a fit one of the creatures breaks out of his tank.

  After that day Sephiroth disappears into the Shinra Mansion where on a feverish pace reads all the books in the library trying to find out who and what he is and about Jenova. While down there Sephiroth goes mad and falsely believes that he and his mother are Ancients and that the planet belongs rightfully to them. On a murderous rampage he burns down Nibelheim killing many including Cloud's Mother and Tifa's father.
  Bent on revenge Cloud follows Septhiroth to the Mako Reactor in Mt. Nibel only to see Tifa crying her hatred for Septhiroth, Shinra, SOLDIERS, and Reactors over her father's slain body. (remember the flashback Cloud had in Mako Reactor No 1?). Tifa grabs Sephiroth's sword and goes after him only to have him cut her down. Cloud picks up an unconscious Tifa and puts her to the side while Sephiroth rips out the metal Jenova statue to see his mother's true form.

  Cloud's memory of the events in Nibelheim are kinda hazy and he can't quite seem to remember what happened when he confronted Sephiroth and the flashback ends there.

  When Cloud is finished telling his story go down stairs and you'll receive a PHS phone which lets you change your party members whenever you hit a save point or out in the World. Go explore Kalm and buy weapons, items whatever and talk to the people around town. Many of them mention that they've seen a man in the black cape carrying a large sword head for the Mythril Mines. It must be Sephiroth so leave Kalm and head for the swamps.

  When you reach the Swamps in front of the mines you'll see a big snake like creature swimming around down there. You could try to make a break for it but unless your really lucky you'll have to fight him and at the level your probably at your dead for sure. You'll need a Chocobo so travel North to the barn to see if you can rent one.

  Seems that Chocobo Billy is already taking care of some Chocobo's for somebody else but he'll tell you how to catch one and about greens and such. . Before you leave talk to one of the Chocobos. Say "Wark" and Chocobos will do a little dance for you finishing by giving you a Choco/Mog Materia.

  Catch your Chocobo and now you should have no problem getting past the Midgar Zolom and a plus about having a Chocobo is that you don't have to fight any enemies. When your on the other side you'll see another Midgar Zolom sticking out the top of a broken tree. The only one powerful enough to do this is Sephiroth.

  The Mine isn't really that big so just explore some of the tunnels to pick up various items in tunnel in front of the exit to the mine you'll see Rude, Tseng, and their newest Turk Elena who lets you know that Sephiroth is heading for Junon. When the Turks leave climb up the vine to exit to the other side of the mountains.

Yuffie



  Now would be a good time to find Yuffie (one of the hidden characters). You can find her by wandering around in the forest until you engage her in battle (Note-some forest are more likely to find her quicker than others).

  Once you come out of the Mythril Mines head to the nearest forests to Junon and keep walking around until you meet her. In this forest it should be around a 1/15th chance. She's a pretty tough fighter with a cool fire attack but you should be able to beat her with no trouble at all.

  When the battle is over Yuffie is lying down exhausted. Whatever you do don't go to the Save point and don't activate your menu or she'll disappear along with some of your Gil. Go over and examine her and have this exact conversation or she'll take off and you have to do it all over again.

Yuffie: "You spiky headed jerk! One more time, let's go one more time!"
Cloud: "Not Interested"
Yuffie: "Your pretty scared of me, huh?"
Cloud: "......petrified"
She'll start to walk away but turn back
Yuffie: "I'm really gonna leave! REALLY!"
Cloud: "Wait a second!"
Yuffie: "You want me to go with you?"
Cloud: "That's right.
Yuffie: "All right! I'll go with you!"
Cloud: "Let's hurry on."

  That should do it, Yuffie will join your party and he'll level will be around the same as you are now. Too bad she can't do any of those special moves that she did in battle anymore.


Junon Harbor

  With finding Yuffie out the way it's time to head to Junon Harbor (unless you want to stop at Fort Condor for some supplies). Junon is hard to spot but use the map and it's just west of the Mythril Mines. Once there you can look around the shops and talk to people but go down to the beach an you'll see a little girl named Priscilla talking to a Dolphin. Before you can get down there a huge water snake comes up and knocks her down.

Bottomswell- Level 23, HP 2500, MP 100: The only way to use your normal attacks on him is if you have a Long Range materia equipped or a long range weapon. Fire is extremely effective. Bottemswell has an attack where he'll put a bubble around one of your fighters which slowly drains their HP. Use a fire spell to break it. Keep your HP over 150 because when you kill him he'll use a Big Wave as a Final Attack.

  Uh oh Priscilla isn't breathing and Cloud needs to give her CPR stat! 5 huge breaths should be able to do it. While Priscilla recovers talk to the lady near the entrance and as thanks she'll let you and your party stay there for the night.

  The next day Cloud awakes to hear parade music. Something is up in Junon. Go visit Priscilla and she'll give you a Shiva as gratitude for saving her life. Cloud can't go up to Junon because of the guard by the elevator but Priscilla loans him her Dolphin whistle to jump him up over the electrical wires.

  When your in the water don't move but blow the whistle. The first jump will miss but when you land don't move and blow the whistle again and Mr. Dolphin should able to lift you up onto the rafter. Climb up the support beam to enter Junon.

Undercover in Junon



  One your at the Junon Airport walk left and use the lift to go down. Inside Cloud will see a bunch of SOLDIERS going crazy getting ready for Rufus's ceremony. One of the Captions will think Cloud is a SOLDIER himself and tell him to go into the locker room and change. Follow him in and take your uniform from an open locker. When dressed a couple of other SOLDIERS will come in and teach you the greeting procedure.

  Your late for the parade so you need to jump in the back where there's in opening in front of a live TV audience. When the other SOLDIERS raise their gun's do the same. Depending on how well Cloud does shows up on the TV ratings and the producer will give you a gift depending on that.

29% or lower = Grenade
30-39% = Potion (x6)
40-49% = Ether (x6)
50% or higher = 5000 Gil

  When the Parade ends you'll see Rufus and Heidegger get into a fight and you'll know that Sephiroth is around. After doing a little greeting to Rufus Cloud is free to go wander around Junon. You might even find the Turks hanging out in a few Bars. Stop at the Respectable Inn and go down to the Beginners Hall where you'll find some ghosts of some people in Sector 7. You'll learn a little bit more and there's a Enemy-Skill Materia on the floor for you to take.

  After your done looking around the shops keep going west until you hit the Dock where Cloud will have to give Rufus another send off. (if you look you can see Red XIII peeking over a crate). Just like the parade Rufus mood goes on how well you perform and Heidegger will give you a gift accordingly.

  When your done join Red XIII on the boat and you'll set sail for the new continent.


On Board

  Your on board but where's everyone else?? Talk to some of the people on board and you'll find the rest of your friends are dressed up too as Soldiers and SOLDIERS. Grab all the items you can below deck and then head upstairs. A Soldier will keep you from getting near Rufus so after you talk to Red XIII and Tifa go back below deck and talk to Aeris. When you go above deck again the Soldier will be gone and you'll be able talk to Barret who's spying on Rufus and Heidegger.

  While Barret has one of his fits again an Alarm goes off. Doesn't sound like they spotted Cloud and the rest so it must be Sephiroth. Get your party of three together and go down below where you'll find a bunch of dead Sailors. (Note- Shinra Marines are carrying some Shinra Beta armor so make sure to steal one)

  In the back of the boat there are some items you can pick up most importantly a Wind Slash weapon. Talk to the dying guard and Cloud will see Sephiroth again for the first time in 5 years and you'll engage in a boss fight with Jenova-BIRTH.

Jenova-BIRTH- Level 25, HP 4000, MP 110: It's strongest attack is a Tail Lazer which can take up to 200 HP. Use your Summon Spells like Choco/Mog and Shiva along with your normal attacks. You'll get a White Cape when you win.

  Before you go back in hiding on you way to Costa Del Sol pick up the Ifrit Materia.


Costa Del Sol

  When you land on the only beach side Resort Town in the World your party will split up and do their own thing. Go down to the beach and you'll find Hojo surrounded by a few beach bunnies (why I don't know). Talk to him and he'll mumble something about Sephiroth heading west towards Mt. Corel. Go to President Shinra's old Villa and take the items in the basement before spending the night at the Inn. Leave Costa Del Sol the next day and head west for Mt. Corel.


Mt. Corel

  The path through Mt. Corel is twisted but straight through. You'll see a Mako Reactor when you enter but you won't be able to go inside. Follow the old train tracks out. While walking on the tracks Cloud will fall through some of the cracks, while falling hold down left or right while hitting the O button over and over to propel Cloud in either direction. The item on the left side is a Wizard Staff and on the right is a Star Pendant.

  When the tracks split into high and low, take the high tracks and go into the little station both to lower the draw bridge on the lower tracks. Before going back though climb up the mountain to see some baby birds who have 10 Phoenix Downs on them. It's not nice to take things from baby birds and you'll piss off your partners.

  Climb back down and and this time take the lower tracks. While your friend's go right take the left path and you can pick up some items in a underground miners cave. Now follow where your friends went and the tracks will take you to North Corel.


North Corel

  When you enter you'll see Barret taking some heat from a few of the townspeople. Guess they blame him for his hometown North Corel burning down. Visit the shops and get what you need then head left for the Ropeway. Barret will tell you a bit about his past about what happened with the Shinra and North Corel. When he finishes take the ropeway to visit the Gold Saucer.


Welcome to the Gold Saucer

  You can't get inside without a ticket so you can pay 3000 Gil for a one time pass or a very hefty 30,000 for a lifetime pass. Once inside Barret will still be in his pissed off mood and go off by himself. Pick one person to join you and explore the huge amusement park. If you visit the Speed Square the owner of the Park Dio will let you know that Sephiroth was around. Next stop is the Wonder Square. There a huge stuffed Mog with a Cat riding on top of it will come up and tell you your fortune. One of them is an odd one about getting what you seek but losing something dear in the process. This intrigues Cait Sith so he forces you to let him join your party.

  Go to the Battle Arena and you'll see that everyone there is dead. Sephiroth? Nope they where shot. One of the tellers who is still alive will tell you that man with a gun arm did this. Barret? Before Cloud finds out Dio and a bunch of guards come in and assume that Cloud and Cait are the ones responsible. Cait Sith urges Cloud to run but they are soon caught by the Robotic Guards and thrown into Gold Saucer's very own prison.

Prison Town

Cloud is thrown into a prison that's surrounded by nothing but desert for a crime he didn't commit. They say a man with a gun arm did it. Could it be Barret?

  Cloud and Cait are stuck in Corel Prison which they can't escape because of the endless Desert. Your going to have to find Barret and talk the boss of the place to get out.

  When you do see Barret he doesn't feel like talking so follow him off screen to the house in the lower part of the Prison. (Note-there are some bandits that steal items from you. Kill them fast to get it back but sometimes they'll disappear with your item forever.) When you go in the house Barret will make like he's going to shoot Cloud but end up shooting the annoying bandit who's been following you around. Barret will tell you about when him and his friend Dyne got back to find North Corel burning to have Scarlet shoot off their arms causing Dyne to fall down a cliff. Barret thinks that Dyne also got the same surgery for a gun arm so he must of been the one doing all those killings.

  Pick another person to join Cloud and Barret and go back up from where you started. You'll find that the guy who was guarding the fence is dead so go up there and to the right. You'll see Dyne near some gravestones. Barret will break off from your party to have one final showdown with Dyne.

Dyne- Level 23, HP 1200, MP 20: You'll fight this battle with only Barret so just use his basic attacks . Dyne's hits will fill up Barret's limit gauge pretty fast. Dyne has an attack where he'll throw an S-Mine right after his normal attack so make sure your HP is over 300 at all times.

  After you defeat Dyne he'll give you a pendant to give to his real daughter Marlene. After that he'll lose his will to live and jump of a cliff.

  Go down to the most southern house that's flanked by guards and see Mr. Costas. Barret will show him the pendant and he'll let Cloud be a Jockey to race for his freedom. He'll need a manager so just on time Ester walks in and gives Cloud instructions on how to race and provides him with his own Chocobo. In the lounge area talk to Joe and make sure to pick up a Ramuh Materia that's sitting in one of the stalls before you leave.

  When you finally win you'll get a letter from Dio saying he's sorry for the mishap and he'll loan you a buggy to use. Unlike a Chocobo you can still encounter enemies while using it.

  Keep heading south until you see a city in a twisted metal of destruction than you'll know you hit Gongaga.

  When you enter you'll see Reno and Rude talking about who they like and whatever. Elena will come up behind you remarking how immature they are before recognizing Cloud and his party then you'll be forced to fight them.

Reno- Level 22, HP 2000, MP 80 and Rude- Level 23, HP 2000, MP 135:  Reno and Rude use a lot of magic in this fight so make sure you have the Fire Ring and the Elemental-Fire Materia linked up to help you protect against this. Go after Rude because he's the one out of the two who does all the healing. When they've had enough you'll receive an X-Potion and a Fairy Tail.

  Kinda odd that the Turks knew where Cloud and the others are. There might be a spy in your group but Cloud just wants to be able to trust everyone. Follow Elena to the Destroyed Mako Reactor and you'll see Scarlet and Tseng inspecting it. When they leave check out the Reactor and you'll get an option to reach in for something. Do it and you'll receive a Titan Materia.

  Go back to the crossroads and take the path that heads out of the area. Pick up a Death-Blow Materia and go back to take the 2nd path into Gongaga Village. If you have Tifa and Aeris in your party to go one of the houses and some elderly people will ask if Cloud knew a young SOLDIER named Zack. Cloud doesn't but this disturbs both Tifa and Aeris. If you want to be mean just leave them behind and they'll still be in your party but if you want to know what they beef is go ask them.

  When your finished looking around Gongaga Village leave and take the cart west to the canyons. It's a little tricky to get through but your buggy will break down in front of a town.


Cosmo Canyon

  When you enter Red XIII will go on ahead past the Guard. Seems like this is Red XIII's hometown and the guard will tell you that his real name is "Nanaki". The place is full but since you helped Red get out of Midgar they'll let you in anyway.

  Cosmo Canyon is dedicated to the study of life and the planet. Go talk to one of the students down below and he'll offer to fix your buggy for you. Red went upstairs to see his grandfather. Follow him up and you'll meet Bugenhagen , Cosmo Canyon's elder, and he'll offer to give you a lesson on the lifestream. Choose a couple of people from your party to join you in the observatory where you'll learn about Shinra's destruction of the planet and it's life energy.

  After it's over you'll find the rest of your party feeling very philosophical (with the exception of Yuffie) sitting around Cosmo Candle. Take time to talk to everyone and then talk to Red XIII last. He'll talk about his pride for his mother and his shame for his father which will prompt Bugenhagen to show up and offer to show Red XIII something. Chose one other party member to go with you to follow him.

  Bugenhagen will open up a sealed door to the Cave of Gi. It's very dangerous and filled with enemies so be prepared.


Gi Cave

  You might want to equip your party with things that will prevent instant death because that's what most of the creatures in Gi Cave love to cast.

  In each cave there are a bunch of rocks you can break open but all of them except one lead to nothing but monsters. The furthest right cave as the rock you want to break to open the secret door above you.

  This area is like a small make to get items and an oil pit you have to walk over to keep from slipping and sliding. When you enter go left and down through the oil spot to get an Added Effect materia and walk down some stairs to get various other items.

  In the next area will be 5 different paths for you to take. Some of them lead to items. Heres how it goes. The furthest left tunnel leads back out through the furthest right tunnel; the 2nd and 4th tunnels take you through a spider web to fight some stingers. Take the 2nd tunnel to lead up to the next area.

  Don't approach the face until you give yourself good protection against fire. Walk up the face and you'll engage in another boss fight.

Gi Nattak- Level 29, HP 5500, MP 200 and Soul Fires: The Soul Fires can be a real pain especially when they posses you and hit you with a fire 2 until they come back out again. Gi Nattak is hurt by Holy which means healing spells. So it may seem a bit odd but keep curing him (which will actually hurt him). Also hit him with your summons like Choco/Mog to paralyze and Shiva to really hurt the Soul Fires. You'll get a Phoenix Down and a Wizer Staff when you win.

  Pick up the Gravity Materia that's lying around and follow Bugenhagen deeper into the Cave. There Red XIII will get the shock of finding out that his father was a hero after all and gave his life to keeping the intruders from taking a single step into Cosmo Canyon.

  It's time to leave Cosmo Canyon but before you'll get very far Red XIII will change his mind about staying and offer to continue the journey with you.

  You'll go out to see that the man kept true to his word and fixed your buggy. Wind out of the Canyon's and head North for Nibelheim.


Nibelheim

Cloud and Tifa's hometown was supposed to have burned down to the ground 5 years ago but yet it's standing like nothing has happened. The Townspeople don't remember them and worse still there are guys with black cloaks wandering around everywhere.

  There's a wrong feeling about this town. When you talk to the people there and enquire about the burning they just call you a liar. Go to those weird looking guys in the black capes and try to talk to them. They'll let you know that Sephiroth is around and most will give you an item.

  Check out the town and go into the Shinra Mansion. Sephiroth was here before so there's a good chance he'll be here again.


Vincent

  To the left of the entrance there's a note lying on the floor written by Professor Hojo. It says that a member of the Turks got to nosy so he had to lock him up in the basement of the mansion. And it will give you clues on how to find the combination to the save which stores the key. Here's the clues and what they really stand for
  1. Look for the lid of the box with the most oxygen (It's the treasure chest upstairs in the atrium. Read the back of the lid for the number 36)
  2. Behind the Ivory's short of tea and ray (It means the Piano keys are short of the notes Tei and Ray. Check the floor around the piano for the number 10)
  3. The creek in the floor near the chair on the second floor. Then to the left five steps, up nine steps, left two steps, and up six steps. (The creek in the floor is in the upstairs bedroom next to the chair, follow the steps to find the number 59)
  4. missing (It means the 4th clue is written in invisible ink, try looking on the sheet where the dial 4 clue should be to find the number 97)
  In a nutshell the combination for the save is Right  36, Left 10, Right 59, and Right 97. You have a time limit so dial quick but it won't work if you go at least just one over the right number. When you've got it you'll be forced to face Lost Number.

Lost Number- Level 35, HP 7000, MP 300: This guy is a real toughy. To help you out have Aeris in your party with your Limit Breaks set to 1 so she can use her Seal Evil to paralyze him. After a while of beating one side dies while the other takes over. The Red side casts nothing but spells to hurt him extra by only using physical attacks. The Purple side does nothing but pummel you with it's huge fists so use only magic to hurt him extra. You'll get Red XIII's 4th limit break Cosmo Memory for winning.

  After the battle pick up the key in the save and the Odin Materia before heading down to the basement library where Cloud went to see Sephiroth in his flashback.

  Before you go into the library you'll notice a door in the hallway. With the key you got from the safe you'll now be able to open it. Go to the center coffin to wake up Vincent. Tell him about Sephiroth and he'll go back to sleep in his coffin. Wake him up again and he'll give you his name and tell you about his past love with Lucricia. Vincent will again go back to sleep. This time leave and head for the stairs where he'll stop you and join your party.

  Now go in the library to Confront Sephiroth. He'll tell Cloud about the reunion and invite him to Mt. Nibel. Sephiroth t

Rocket Town


  Check out the shops and talk to the people around town and you'll hear about the Captain and how he spends all his time fixing up that old Shinra Rocket. Go to his house which is in the middle back and he'll find that it's empty. When you go in the backyard you'll see a small plane called the Tiny Bronco. Should you steal it? Before you can do anything a friend of the Captain's's named Shera comes out and tells you that you can find the him in the Rocket.

  Climb up the long stairs to the Rocket and ask him to tell you about it. The Captain will introduce himself as Cid and tell you about how he was going to be the first man in outer space when Shinra started their new space program. Cid's in a pretty good mood because President Rufus is going to stop by about some business. Cid thinks it's about restarting the space program. When you ask to borrow the Tiny Bronco he'll basically tell you no way in hell so just leave him up there and go back to his house.

  Cid will follow you in and berates Shera as she fixes Cloud and his friends some Tea. She'll tell you about how she deserves the way Cid treats her because she ruined his dreams of flying out into space because she wouldn't get out of the engine room in time of the launch because her checks on the oxygen tanks were satisfactory and forced Cid to abort the launch. Shinra closed down their space program to get involved with other things before another launch could be rescheduled.

  Oops looks like Rufus has arrived. Go outside and it seems like Rufus only wants to borrow the Tiny Bronco to go after Sephiroth instead of restarting the space program. Shera thinks Palmer is going to steal it so go to the backyard and take care of that problem.

Palmer -Level 38, HP 6000, 240: This is the funniest boss battle in the game. Palmers pretty weak and only uses his Mako Gun. Use strong spells and hit him with a Choco/Mog to freeze him for a bit. Caste Haste and just sock it to him. When he's had enough he'll run away only to be hit by a truck.

  Uh uh the Tiny Bronco's engine is turned on and it won't stop moving. Cloud will hop to pilot it high in the sky then coming back down through Rocket Town. Cid runs and jumps a ride which pisses Rufus off plenty. He orders the guards to shoot it down which causes the Tiny Bronco to crash in the ocean. Cid's pretty much given up on life with the Shinra and joins Cloud. The plane is still salvageable as a boat.

Yuffie's Sub-Quest

  If Yuffie is in your party when the Tiny Bronco goes down she'll suggest that you head West. (Note-you can do this anytime during the game). Head to the western continent and park the Tiny Bronco at the closest beach. A little ways up the trail Yuffie will stop you and tells some story about how it's really dangerous up ahead. Mmm, Cloud thinks something's up but they are interrupted by some Shinra Guards. When the Guards attack Yuffie takes off with most if not all your materia.

  Well now your stuck. You can't leave on the Tiny Bronco without getting your materia back from Yuffie so head North through the twisty path until you reach Wutai. (Note-keep saving your guy on this stretch because without your materia the creatures can kill you a lot easier)

  Once in Wutai Yuffie will shout something to you and take off. It's time to play a little game of cat and mouse. Talk to the villagers and they'll hint that Yuffie went to Godo's house that's near the pagoda. Inside you'll see a sleeping man who must be Godo. Keep talking to him over and over until Yuffie comes out and they get into a fight. Then you'll realize that Yuffie is Godo's daughter. But before you can catch her she'll take off again. Godo's house has two secret rooms on each side with fake walls. In them is a Hairpin for Red and a Magic Shuriken for Yuffie.

  Go back down to Wutai and go into the Materia Shop. Except the storekeeper tells you that the town is all out. Open the treasure chest and you'll get a MP Absorb Materia, but a split second later Yuffie pick pockets it and hauls ass out of there.

  Go to the house right of the entrance and a little girl will remark on how a strange looking girl barged into their house. Peek around the screen and you'll find Yuffie but again she springs out before you can catch her.

  Check out the front of Turtle's Paradise and you'll see the Jar moving back and forth. This time Cloud and his companions are ready and block off all the exits. Go to the jar and punch it three times and Yuffie will pop out. She'll take you back to her house to give back your materia.

  While Yuffie takes Cloud to her place the Turks are having a drink in the Turtle's Paradise when some Shinra SOLDIERS burst in and ask for their help in catching a fugitive. Because it's their day off Rude and Reno blow them off but Elena offers to help.

  Yuffie takes you to the basement where she tells you some sob story about how Wutai has turned into a petty resort town and how she needs materia. She tells Cloud to pull the left switch but it's a Trap! A giant cage comes down and traps two members of Cloud's party as Yuffie takes off yet again. (It doesn't matter which switch you pull for the cage to come down) Pull the switch again to lift up the cage and go back to the area in front of Godo's house. Run up to the bell and hit it with the gong once to open a secret door.

  Inside the secret room you'll see Yuffie being kidnapped by non other than the Pervert Don Corneo. But that's not all he's also kidnapped Elena too. Before you can do anything the Shinra SOLDIERS come in to get the Don but end up attack you instead while he makes his escape.

  Back outside you'll see Reno and Rude and agree not to get in each others way as they try to get their girls back. Reno gives you the hint that they went to the place that sticks out the the most (Da-Chao Mountains). Go with the Turks to track him down.

  When you get there Yuffie and Elena are tied up to the mountain and the Don is again picking his companion for the night which happens to be Yuffie (guess it doesn't matter that she's underaged). Don's still pissed for Cloud killing Apps back in the sewers and unleashes a new playmate.

Rapps- Level 39, HP 6000, MP 300: This is tough because you don't have your materia to help you. Use your normal attacks and hopefully you stocked up on items like Fire Veil and Swift Bolt. Have Barret use his Mindblow to keep Rapps from using his deadly Aero 3 attack that can dish out 1,500 HP points each. When you defeat him you'll get a Peace Ring.

  The Don isn't about to give up that easily when he flips Elena and Yuffie upside down and threatens to make squashed tomatoes out of them. But the Turks come to the rescue and throw him off the cliff.

  Back at Yuffie's house she'll give you back your materia but all in the wrong Order. Well at least you got it back and now you can visit the Weapon shop to get supplies.

Battle at the Pagoda

  You can test Yuffie's skills at the Pagoda where on each of the 5 levels she'll fight a member from her town. Give Yuffie your best Materia and equip her differently for each match.

Level #1 Gorki- Level 30, HP 3000, MP 150: Equip Yuffie's armer with an Elemental-Gravity link to protect you from Gorki's demi spells, a Restore, and a Counter Attack along with a Haste and a Barrier. Cast haste right away and being immune to the Demi spells this match should be pretty easy. Gorki will give you an X-Potion when you win.

Level #2 Shake- Level 32, HP 4000, MP180: Equip Yuffie with a Choco/Mog summon with a Haste and a Barrier. Use Haste to help match Shake's speed and Barrier to keep the slapping and Rage Bomber attacks to a half. Use the Choco/Mog to paralyze Shake to score some free hits. You'll get get a Turbo Ether as an award for winning.

Level #3 Chekhov- Level 34, HP 5000, MP 210: Equip Yuffie with the Jem Ring to protect her from the stare down and caste your Haste and Barrier right away and blast away with your normal attacks. You get an Ice Ring when you succeed.

Level #4 Staniv- Level 36, HP 6000, MP 240: All Staniv does is hit you with his main weapon and very rarely does he cast War Cry. Just caste Haste and Barrier and just use your normal attacks while keeping your health up. You'll win an Elixir.

Level #5 Godo- Level 36, HP 6000, MP 240: Godo has three different faces and each has it's own attacks. The red face has a beast sword attack and the painful Trine which can cause 1,000 points of damage. The gold face casts sleepel, mini, and Cure 2 after a while. The white face casts Drain, Bio 2, and Demi 2. Equip Yuffie with Counter Attack, Heal, Cure, Time, and Barrier. Give her an Added Effect-Poison combo. Caste Haste and Barrier right away and keep your HP up over a 1000 to stay alive after that deadly Trine attack. When Godo starts curing himself give him a mirror and that will stop that. (You can get a mirror but beating one of those mirrors in the Shinra Mansion in Nibelheim). You'll get the Leviathan Materia and Yuffie's 4th Limit break, All Creation.


The Cait and the Keystone

  East of Gongaga is a single house on a strip of land. Inside is a weapon seller. He doesn't have the keystone because he sold it to Dio from the Gold Saucer so that's going to be your next step.

  Head back to North Corel and on the ropeway to the Gold Saucer. People there will tell you about Dio's museum in the Battle Arena. Sure enough the Keystone is center stage. Dio will let Cloud borrow it if he takes place in the battle arena (it doesn't matter how far you go, Dio will let you borrow it anyway). With the Keystone in hand, try to leave and you'll see that the ropeway is broken. Cait knows people at the ghost hotel so they'll let Cloud stay the night there for free.

  That night Aeris will come to Cloud's room (unless you've been really pissy to her then someone else will come) and ask him to Join her on a Date around the Gold Saucer. Tonight all the rides are free and there's a show going on. When Aeris and Cloud walk in they'll be told that they are the 100th couple and get to star in tonights show. (Notice how the script is like a parody of a previous Final Fantasy?)

  After the show Aeris will want you to take her on the Gondola. Look out the window when Aeris does to see some really nice scenes from the Gold Saucer.

  When Cloud and Aeris return to the station you'll see Cait Sith holding something. It's the Keystone. Cait takes off and Cloud will have to chase him all throughout the Gold Saucer but not before Cait Sith is able to throw the Keystone to Tseng of the Turks who's waiting in the helicopter.

  So Cait's the spy after all. And he still has the nerve to force himself still into Cloud's party because he kidnapped Marlene and Elmyra. Cait does know where the Temple of the Ancients is and after a night rest at the Gold Sauce

Temple of the Ancients

  The Temple of the Ancients is South East of the Gold Saucer. With Aeris in your party go inside and you'll see Tseng dying of a stab wound inflicted by Sephiroth. He'll give you the Keystone and tell you to place it in the alter. The ground sinks in taking Cloud to a huge maze like place.

  This maze is pretty tricky so bare with me when I try to give you directions to get all of the items. When you enter you'll see a guy in a purple outfit running away. Go up and turn left on the small set of stairs. Go left, right, and then down a medium size set of stairs and climb down the vines. Go right and open the treasure box and down another set of stairs. Climb up the vines and walk past the door with the barrier around it and up a longer set a stairs. Climb up the vines and grab the item before going into the cave that the old guy with the purple suit went in.

  He'll let you rest and sell you some items. He talks in Ancient so only Aeris can understand what he's saying. Leave the cave and climb back down the vines. Instead of going down the stairs press down and you'll go through an opening. Go down the long set of stairs, turn left, and go down another set of stairs. You'll see another treasure box near the bottom of the screen you should be able to get to. Go down the stairs in front of the treasure box, turn up and climb the vines a go up the stairs into the cave right in front of it. Turn right and go down the stairs to get another item.

  Now to back to the cave in front of the stairs but go into the one to the left of it where the other old guy in purple ran too. There are huge U-Shaped boulders rolling buy so time your runs so the open part will roll over you. If you miss some of your HP will go down and you'll have to start over again. Pick up a Mime Materia that's sitting in front of some kind of pool half way to the end.

  When you safely reach the other side Aeris will stop you and take you back to the pool in the middle and you'll what happened when Sephiroth stabbed Tseng only a short time ago. Go back right and save your guy with the dude in purple and you'll come into a huge clock like room. Adjust the hands so you can get all the items in the rooms and let the second hand throw you off the clock so get some more items in a treasure chest. When finished go in the room where 6 on a clock would be and you'll see yet another guy in purple running around with the key to the room with the shrines. This is an easy puzzle to solve. Just keep going back in the room you exit over and over until you catch the elf guy and he'll give you the key to the door.

  Inside the room with the Shrines you'll find Sephiroth. He tells you about his plan for the Black Materia to summon a meteor to create enough damage that Sephiroth will be able to control all of the souls in the lifestream. As Sephiroth leaves Cloud goes psycho again, when he finally regains control you'll get thrown into a fight with the Red Dragon.

Red Dragon- Level 39, HP 6800, MP 300:  This is a guy who uses the Fire element a lot so stay away from Fire and Gravity spells. Caste Fire and Haste on your party right away and Regen if you can. You'll win a Dragon Armlet.

  The Dragon will leave behind a Bahamut Materia so make sure you don't miss it. When Cloud tires to disturb the puzzle holding the Black Materia the temple suddenly shakes. The Ancients built it so you can't get the Materia without being crushed. Cait Sith having a robotic body anyway volunteers to get the materia (don't worry about Cait Sith, a replacement body will come shortly). When Cloud tries to exit the temple a hideous creature comes out of the wall.

Demon's Gate- Level 45, HP 10000, MP 400: Caste Slow on him right away. And get Barrier and Haste on yourselves quickly too. The Gate has powerful attacks that hit twice over but the Barrier will help protect the damage. Keep your HP higher than 1,000 when you can. You'll receive a Gigas Armlet when you succeed.

  The Temple is slowly destroyed as Cait retrieves the Black Materia. Cloud and Aeris go down the new crater to get it but soon as it's in your hands Sephiroth bends Cloud's will again to force him to hand it over. Aeris tries to control Cloud but she ends up taking a few hits herself.

  Cloud has a dream about Aeris in the sleeping forest. She tells him only she can stop Sephiroth and she'll be back when it's all over. Sephiroth appears when she leaves knowing what she's up to.

  Cloud will wake up in Gongaga Village with Tifa and Barret over him. Cloud knows that Aeris is on the Northern Continent so get your party together and go after her.


The Search for Aeris

  Land the Tiny Bronco on the beach in front of Bone Village. When you ask about Aeris they'll tell you she used a Lunar Harp to awaken the sleeping forest so she could pass. Cloud's going to need one too or he'll get lost in the forest so hire the diggers to dig for it. The Harp should be on the upper level in front and towards the left of the tent.

  The sleeping forest is exactly how it appeared in Cloud's dream so you know your in the right direction. In the 2nd section of the forest you'll see a Red thing moving around before disappearing and appearing a different area. Chase after it and you'll find that it's a Kjata Materia.

  When your in the Rocky area pick up the Water Ring before moving on. After a bit of traveling you'll be back out on the world map. Go straight ahead on the path to enter the City of the Ancients.

  After looking around the houses sleep in one of them and Cloud will awaken in the middle of the night saying he hears Aeris voice. Go to the giant shell building in the middle and the fish that was there earlier will now be replaced by a set of stairs.


  When you climb the stairs down to a beautiful glass city you'll see Aeris kneeling silently in prayer at the alter. Before you go up to her equip Cloud with a Water Ring.

  Cloud motions for the others to stay behind while he hops the pillars to see Aeris himself. As soon as he gets near her he starts to wig out again. He takes out his sword and is just about to bring it down on her head when he regains his control at the last second.

  Sephiroth is more than happy to do the job that he wasn't able to get Cloud to do.  As the White Materia falls off the alter and into the waters below Cloud catches Aeris body before she slumps to the floor. Sephiroth thinks that Cloud is faking his grief and sends Jenova-LIFE to deal with him.

Jenova-LIFE- Level 50, HP 10000, MP 300: All of Jenova's attacks are water based and with the Water Ring attached you'll become almost invincible. Caste MBarrier and Haste on your party and while Cloud uses his normal attacks have everyone else use their strongest Quake spell. Watch out if Jenova-LIFE castes reflect though. You'll get a Wizard Bracelet when you win.

  After Cloud lays Aeris to rest in the pool below the city, Clouds desire to get Sephiroth is stronger than ever. The next morning Cloud will sense that Sephiroth took a certain path through the Corral Valley Caves. Climb up the conch shell and then walk back around the ledge so you can reach the cave opening. In the next area just maneuver through the cracks in the wall to get all of the treasure chests before climbing to the top. You'll come out of the cave to the World Map. Just walk around the mountains until you come to the Icicle Inn.

Icicle Inn

  When you check out all of the houses you'll find out that this is the town where Aeris is born. In your parents house look at the movies and you'll find out about the Weapons and about her parents Professor Gast and Ilfano and the tragic day that Hojo shot Gast and took Aeris who was only a baby and her mother as specimens.

  Try to leave the town through the back and the lady will tell you that you can't gp without a snowboard and a map. First go to the little kids house and he'll let you borrow his, and in one of the houses you'll find out that the ladies husband left years ago to live at the foot of the mountains. They'll let you use the map that's pinned to the wall. When you try to leave Elena of the Turks and some SOLDIERS will come up. Elena blames Cloud for Tseng's death and reaches back to hit him (if you dodge she'll stumble and roll down the mountain). Now your all free to go. (Note-which turns you take on the snowboard will effect where you land)

  After Cloud pulls his head out of the snow check your map and make your way to the check mark. (You might want to make a stop at the hot springs which is shown on the north east part of the map and touch the water). You only have a short time to explore this area for items before Cloud passes out.

  If you haven't passed out yet and have reached the area to the top of the map you'll end up in a big snowy waste land. Keep planting your flags to make sure you don't get turned around. If you go right upon entering you'll end up at some caves where a snow women lives. When you talk to her she'll curse you for touching her with the same hands that touched the hot springs and engage you in battle. She isn't too hard just use fire spells. When you beat her you'll get an Alexander Materia.

  Back in the snowy wastelands walk left from where you enter until you find a snow cave and inside is an All Materia. Now head up and you'll find Mr. Halzoff's house (which is where you would've been taken too if you passed out).

  Mr. Halzoff will let you rest here and give you tips to keep Cloud warm while he climbs the steep cliffs ahead. The next morning choose your party and equip yourselves with the proper materia and items against Ice attacks.


The Gaea Cliffs

  While climbing the cliffs hop up and down as much as you need to every time you reach another ledge. It's important to keep Cloud's body temperature over 26 degree's or he'll pass out and you'll have to start all over again from Mr. Halzoff's place.

  After the first set of cliffs go into the small cave and take the left path. Follow the trail until you see a boulder resting on the edge of a cliff. Push it over to crush the icicles that were blocking the main path. Take the main path out and continue to climb up the next set of cliffs. Inn the next cave you won't be able to continue on the path because of a huge gapping hole in the way. Climb up around and you'll find 4 huge Icicles. You'll have to battle each of them until they crack.  As soon as you get all 4 jump back down and you'll be able to walk over the fallen icicle to get through to the path.

  In the next cave save your guy and refresh your HP/MP in the pool. Give your party items that will both dish out Fire and Ice attacks as well as protect from them and Quake.

Schizo Left- Level 43, HP 18000, MP 350 and Schizo Right- Level 43, HP 18000, MP 350: Each head is a certain element. The Right side is fire-based so slam him with Ice spells, and do the same with the Ice-based left side with Fire Spells. But both of them have a wicked Quake 3 attack. Case MBarrier and Regen on your team right away along with the usual Haste and Slow. Keep your HP over 1000 because that's what their final attack takes out of your party when it dies. You'll win a Dragon Fang.

  You'll exit the cave and as Cloud climbs higher and higher to the top of the cliff you'll notice that Sephiroth is causing some very unusual activity in the Northern Crater

Inside the Crater

  You'll run into Sephiroth's followers as you make your way deeper and deeper into the cave. Check some of the fallen ones for items as you pass them. Keep an eye out for a Neo Bahamut Materia that's lying around and once you hit the Save point equip your party with items to protect Fire.

  Rufus and some of the executives are on their way to the crater right now in the Highwind. They think the crater itself might be the Promised Land.

  To get deeper towards the Center of the crater your going to have to time when you cross when the wind as it's calmest or you'll get blown right back. You'll find Sephiroth killing a few more of his followers but as soon as he spots you he'll disappear while sending Cloud Jenova-DEATH to deal with.

Jenova-DEATH- Level 55, HP 25000, MP 800: This Jenova is a fire based attacker so start off with casting MBarrier, Haste, and Regen on your party while casting Slow on Jenova. Use Esuna if he casts Silence on you. Your prize when you win is a Reflect Ring.

  Jenova leaves the Black Materia when you defeat him but Cloud doesn't trust himself with it. If have the option of giving it to either Barret or Red XIII before going deeper into the crater to look for Sephiroth.

  At the next Save point make sure to pick up the Turbo Ether before having to cross the wind barriers again. As you get closer to Sephiroth he'll slap a bunch of illusions on you about what happened in Nibelheim 5 years ago but a different version of what Cloud told everyone in Kalm. Sephiroth tells Cloud he was never in Nibelheim 5 years ago because he wasn't even alive then that he's just some clone that Hojo created. Cloud doesn't pay it much attention thinking it's all a prank but Tifa seems to be much more shaken by it. Cloud starts to see some of the gaps in his memory and really believes that he is nothing but a clone to do Sephiroth's bidding.

  Back with the rest of the group Red or Barret (depending on which one has the Black Materia) will have an odd visit from Tifa telling them to bring the Black Materia because Cloud's in trouble. It's not Tifa but Sephiroth in disguise.

  While the Shinra Executives are looking at all the Mako in the crater Cloud and Tifa suddenly appear in front of them. Barret or Red will come running up and give the Black Materia to Cloud who somehow flies up to some kind of cocoon. This is where Sephiroth's real body has been for the last 5 years. Cloud then turns and hands Sephiroth the Black Materia.

  Now all chaos is let loose as all of the Weapons of the World wake up at the same time including the one buried in the crater. Rufus takes everyone to safety with the Highwind.


Escape from Junon

  While Tifa is in her Coma she has a dream to when she and Cloud met for the first time in Midgar. When she wakes up she finds out she's been out of it for 7 days, a Weapon is attacking Junon, and Sephiroth has summoned a Meteor. And to top all that off Rufus plans to Execute her and Barret just so the public will feel better to have someone to blame.

  Tifa and Barret will be led to the gas chamber to be executed in front of a live television audience. Scarlet has some serious beef with Tifa for some reason and has her sent to die first. While Tifa is in there Cait Sith drops his disguise as a TV reporter and helps Barret look for a way to save Tifa since the door to the gas chamber is stuck. The rest of Midgar is in a tizzy as they prepare the Sister Ray to shoot at the upcoming Weapon.

  The cannon missed and Weapon crashed headfirst into Junon. Barret and Cait will try to look for the gas chambers control room but Scarlet locks the gas chamber room behind them. Cait suggests they go to the airport. On their way there a reporter will try to ask Barret some questions. It's really Yuffie in disguise so now you'll have a full party the rest of the way.

  When Barret reaches the airport he'll call Tifa on the PHS telling her to hold her breath. There's a key next to the restraint chair and you have to maneuver Tifa to get it. Press the button to move her legs to scoot the key over to her chair and then press Triangle to make her sit up. Now press the legs and head button for Tifa to put the key in her mouth. Press the Head and arm buttons to unlock her wrists. When free press the button near the chair to turn off the gas. But Tifa can't get out because Scarlet locked the door to the chamber. But the weapon will help out by shooting a hole clear through the gas chamber wall before getting shot in the face by Sister Ray.

  With Tifa climb down the wall while Scarlet sends some SOLDIERS after all. Don't worry they won't be able to get to you. When she drops to the floor run up onto the cannon itself to the very end where Scarlet will confront her to have a slapping match. Who ever gets the most hits in a row wins it. Before the SOLDIERS can grab Tifa she hears Barret telling her to run to the edge of the cannon where you'll see him on the Highwind. Tifa will catch the rope as they fly away to safety.



The Search for Cloud

  Tifa will be the main one you'll control as the team searches for Cloud. The Highwind can fly everywhere but only land on a smooth grassy area. In the Operations room you can save your guy, rest, and change your party members. When you ready to go, take the Highwind to the southern most continent to the town of Mideel.

  If you have some Mimett Greens go inside one of the stores and you'll see a crazy shopper running around with a white chocobo. Talk to the Chocobo and give him the greens and also scratch him behind the ears and nowhere else. You'll get a Contain Materia.

  As Tifa stops to pet a dog you'll hear some of the townspeople talking about a patient in the clinic with spiky blond hair and weird glowing eyes. It has to be Cloud except right now he's a vegetable with Mako poisoning. Tifa decides to stay behind with Cloud.

  Back on the airship Cait Sith relays Shinra's plans for collecting all of the Huge Materia in the world for a Super Weapon to destroy the meteor. Cid is elected to be the leader (whether he wants to or not). Go to the Operations room and choose a new party and take the Highwind to North Corel to get the first of the Huge Materia.

Huge Materia 1: Runaway Train

  At North Corel the people there will tell you about a train that's coming in soon. It mush have the Huge Materia in it. Follow the Train Tracks back to the Mako Reactor. When you walk up to the entrance the train it'll shoot right by you. Cid will get the idea of taking a trolley to catch up with it.

  You have a 10 minute time limit to get on the train, defeat all of the enemies on the carts, and stop it before it hits North Corel. If you do it right that should be plenty of time.

  To catch up with the train alternate pressing up and Triangle until you catch up to it. Once aboard there will be a different enemy to deal with on each of the carts. When fighting them stay away from your summon spells. They take up way too much time.

Car #1- Gas Ducter: Equip yourselves with the meteor materia and one shot should do it

Car #2- Two Gas Ducters: Just hit each of them with a meteor again.

Car #3- Wolfmeister: It's weak against water so use the Enemy-Skill Aqualung if you learned it from Jenova-LIFE or just this once use the summon Leviathan.

Car #4- Eagle Gun: Use your strongest Bolt spells.

Engine: To stop the Train you can either press the levers down three times, or alternate moving them up and down.

  Depending if you stop the train in time will see if you save North Corel from further destruction.

 If the train crashes you won't get the Huge Materia and the Ultima Materia you would get from the little boy as thanks for stopping the train in time.

  The Next Huge Materia is in Fort Condor. You may have helped them out earlier in the game when it was optional but now your going to have to to get the materia out of Shinra's hands.


Huge Materia 2: Fort Condor

  Make sure you have lots of money because the people at Fort Condor want you to sponsor their troops. In this mini game place the troops the best you can to halt the attack. As soon as you beat the Enemy Commander you'll win. Don't worry if you can't stop them from getting to the top because you just engage them in battle yourself which shouldn't be that difficult.

  After the battle something happens and the Mother Condor dies. But the baby Condor is all right. Go up to the baby and grab the Phoenix Materia that lies next to it.

  Now go downstairs and talk to the Old man and he'll give you the Materia that wasn't with the Condor after all.

  Cid and the others want to see how Cloud's doing so hop in the Highwind and head back to Mideel. You'll find that Cloud is still a dummy and Tifa doesn't think he'll come out of it. Just then the Ultimate Weapon will attack the town.

Ultimate Weapon: You just need to stay alive in this fight. Caste MBarrier right away and use normal spells and Limit breaks. After a bit the Weapon will fly away. The town is still in danger because the Lifestream is starting to shoot up through the ground. Tifa tries to get Cloud out in time but the ground sinks in and she and Cloud are dumped into the pool.

Inside Cloud's Mind

  Tifa will wake up in a surreal world that seems to stand for Cloud's subconscious. There are three different Clouds in this place and and Tifa needs to help them each remember something about his past.

  Start buy talking to the Cloud at the top of the screen and you'll be taken to Nibelheim. Cloud will reenact what happened when Sephiroth and him first went to Nibelheim. Tifa stops him and tells him that it wasn't Cloud but another SOLDIER Zack who came with Sephiroth.

  Now go talk to the Cloud on the left side of the screen and you'll be taken back to the well where Tifa and Cloud made their promise. Cloud remembers it how Tifa did so she is more convinced that he isn't a clone but he isn't convinced yet.

  Tifa will ask Cloud if he remembers anything else about her and he'll take her to the time when her mother died. Cloud starts to remember what really happened in Nibelheim that he never made SOLDIER first class but he was there as a simple guard. When he confronted Sephiroth he gets stabbed yet is still able to fling Seph over the side into the Mako.

  Now that Cloud's mind is all right again they'll come out of the Lifestream together.


Huge Materia 3: The Underwater Reactor

  Go back to the Junon Harbor and bribe the guard to let you take the elevator up. Once there go down to the street where the sector split's into upper and lower Junon and take the Elevator down to the Underwater Reactor. (On the way there Cloud will stop the group and notice that something's missing. If you look closely you'll notice that it's the Sister Ray). Follow the walkway to the Reactor's core. You'll see that your a little late and the Huge Materia is already being put into the submarine. Run to it and you'll bump into Reno who sends the Carry Armor to attack.

Carry Armor- Level 45, HP 24000, MP 200: This is a tough SOB. Since it's a machine hit him with Lightning and Ramuh spells. Caste Mbarrier, Haste, and Regen and slow or stop on the Carry Armor. While fighting it can pick up some of your members and give out some damage at the same time. To get them back you can kill them and bring them back to life later with a Phoenix Down or attack the arm itself. If one dies and the Carry Armor has the other two than it's game over. You'll receive a God's Hand when you win.

  The submarine carrying the Huge Materia gets away but you can just hijack another Sub to go after it (Note-Remember to get the Leviathan Scales out of the treasure box to get by the flames in the cave in Wutai)

  You'll run into a bunch of SOLDIERS while trying to hijack the sub. In the control room you'll see your friends from the parade while Cloud was undercover. You don't have to kill them if you don't want to but you can steal a Shinra Alpha from the caption if you decide you want to.

  With the sub you'll have another mini game as you try to shoot the other sub down. You have a 10 minute time limit to do this but if you don't loose sight of the sub it should be a pretty easy task to sink it.

  When you win you'll be able to keep the Sub. You'll be called back to return to Junon but dive again and look for the sunken sub. When you find it you'll pick up the Huge Materia.

  There's a place where you can dock the sub at Junon. You'll arrive just in time to see another Huge Materia being carried off by a plane on it's way to Rocket Town. So get back on the Highway and get moving.

Huge Materia 4: The First Man in Space

  At Rocket Town you'll see the Shinra busy to get the Rocket ready for launch. You'll have to get through the guards before you meet up with Rude of the Turks.

Rude- Level 42, HP 9000, MP 240 and Attack Squad: Start by getting rid of the Attack Squad first before you settle on Rude. His strongest attack is Guard Spark. Put up the MBarrier to cut the attack in half. Caste Reflect on Rude to keep him from using his Cure Spells when his HP gets low.

  When you enter the cockpit you'll find out that the Rocket is ready to launch. Cid changes his mind and decides he wants to pilot the rocket into space himself. Palmer locks up the auto piloting device so your stuck on a crash course for Meteor.

  Once in the air Cid will tell Cloud where he can find the Huge Materia. Cid will give you some clues as the timer on the password is running out. If you don't guess it in time you'll loose out on the Huge Materia. The password is O, Square, X, X.

  The team isn't doomed to crash into meteor because Cid has an escape pod on board. On their way there Tank number 8 explodes trapping Cid under a heap of metal. Cid realizes that that tank was the one Shera was worried about. Luckily she stowed aboard and helps Cloud free Cid from the wreckage.

  The Escape pod separates from the Rocket just before it crashes into Meteor.

  The meteor is destroyed somewhat but pulls itself back together Terminator 2 style. Shin-ra's plan to destroyed it failed.


  Cloud decides to ask for Bugenhagen's advice on this. Go back to Cosmo Canyon and he'll suggest that Cloud shows him the place where Aeris died. Before you leave though you'll store your Huge Materia in his observatory. Walk up to one and they will all glow faintly except one if you have both the Bahamut Materia and Neo Bahamut Materia the Huge Materia will give you a Zero Bahamut Materia.


The Ancient Machine

  Take the Highwind to the Ancient City and go into one of the caves next to the huge Shell Building. Bugenhagen notices some notes written on the Ancient Machine with clues on where to find the key. It's in a place where sunlight can't reach. It must be underwater. Take the Highwind back to where you parked the submarine .

  Underwater head north and hug the west wall until you see a side passage. Inside is an artifact that is millions of years old. It's the Key to the Ancients that you looking for.

  Take the key back to the Ancient City where Bugenhagen will put it into the music box. Water will shoot up around the machine and act as a projection screen as it shows you the White Materia's true purpose. Aeris used the Materia to pray for Holy but Sephiroth's presence keeps the Holy from moving. Cloud has to destroy Sephiroth or the Holy won't be able to stop the meteor from hitting. Before you can leave the cave Cait Sith reports that the Sister Ray has been moved from Junon to Midgar.

  Just in time for Midgar too because as soon as you get to the beach in front of Bone Village another Weapon will pop up nearby on a destructive course for Midgar. Take the Highwind and find a spot near Midgar and wait for the Weapon to arrive.

Diamond Weapon: Hit him with all you got, Bahamut Zero, Ultima, Comet as well as slapping Haste, Barrier, Regen on yourselves while putting Slow on him. You can't use your physical attacks. When Diamond Weapon starts to count down that means he's getting ready to hit you with the Diamond Flash that can take up to 3000 HP to each fighter so prepare your HP.

  After the battle Diamond Weapon is stunned but not dead and is still on it's war path towards Midgar. Weapon and Midgar fire at each other the same time.

  With Midgar in Chaos and Rufus dead, Reeve (who is really Cait Sith) is put in prison buy Scarlet and Heidegger. The team decides to go after Sephiroth later and help Reeve out. (Before you fly over Midgar it would be a good idea to get the Knights of the Round Table Materia because their are going to be some tough bosses to face. Go to the Chocobos page to learn how to breed a Gold Chocobo in order to get this materia)

  When your all equipped just fly the Highwind over Midgar and the team will automatically parachute in.


Midgar

  When Cloud lands follow Cait Sith into the back alleys where you'll take the stairs down into the sewers. There are a lot of items you can get in this place. First get the items at the end of the ramp right of the opening and the item up the ladder near the back of the 2nd platform. (You can't get these items after the floor breaks). Take the ladder to the lower level and head right  and the floor breaks. Climb the pipes and take the chute down. Take the long set of stairs up to the Save Point.

  Squeeze into the tunnels and keep going South as far as you can (and grab the treasure boxes on the way). The furthest South is a W-Item Materia (which is very useful) and a Save Point. When you travel back up to where you started from and keep going North you'll run into the Turks. This time you have a choice of whether or not you want to fight them.

Reno- Level 50, HP 25000, MP 200; Rude- Level 51, HP 28000, MP 250; Elena- Level 53, HP 30000, MP 100: Quickly cast Wall, Haste, and Regen on your party as well as the usual status spells like Slow and Stop on the Turks. Use spells that hit all three Turks at once like Knights of the Round Table, Bio, ect. Each of the Turks has a great item so make sure to steal it.

  With the Turks out of the way go north and take the 2nd left to go to Shinra Headquarters. Remember how when Cloud was there the first time there was a megaphone in one of the lockers in the gym? That's Cait Sith's Ultimate weapon. After you pick that up go back and this time take the first left which will take you to the cannon. Before you can get very far Heidegger and Scarlet will come up from behind in the Proud Clod.

Proud Clod- Level 53, HP 60000, MP 320: This guy has two separate parts with it's armor and body. Slam him with a Knights of the Round Table for a quick fight but if you don't have it go after the lower armor first. Proud Clod has a lot of different attacks to be prepared for with it's side guns being the strongest-up to 1500 HP. You win a Ragnarok after this battle.

  At the nearest Save Point make sure that Barret is in your party (if he isn't the treasure box with his Ultimate Weapon, Missing Score, won't be there.

  Keep going and you'll find Hojo busy at the controls. When talking to him he'll let out the secret that he is Sephiroth's father and is aiding him in damaging the planet to gain more energy from the lifestream. Hojo has three different forms you'll have to fight.

Hojo Form #1- Level 34, HP 11000, MP 120: This is the very easiest of the three forms. Forget the two Jenova things and concentrate all of your attacks on Hojo himself. Caste Haste on your party and use strong spells.

Hojo Form #2- Level 55, HP 26000, MP 260: Take out the right arm first for the fact that it has the lowest HP. Focus all of your energy on the main body because killing the left arm will have no effect on wether you beat him or not.

Hojo Form #3- Level 58, HP 30000, MP 100: Caste Wall and Haste on your party right away because this guy likes to deal out a lot of physical blows at a time. Also keep your Esuna ready because of all of the Silence spells. Having Counter Attack is extremely helpful because it can counter each hit. Use your strongest spells and summons. You'll pick up a Power Source for winning.

  Before heading to the Northern Crater take your time in getting as prepared as you can. Get everyone's Ultimate Weapon and 4th Limit breaks. Master all of your Materia and take it back to the observatory to have it merge into a special type of Materia that can do all of the spells of the materia's type.


The Final Battle

  Now that the barrier surrounding the cave has been destroyed your able to land the Highwind inside it. Your start out by talking a twisty spiral deeper in the Cave. In the first treasure chest you'll get a Save Crystal you can place anywhere you want because there are no others in the crater.

  When you enter this section go to the left to grab a materia and just grab all the items you can on your way down. (They are mostly sources)

In the next section walk right until Cloud falls straight down, fall right again and take the Cave to move down further. When you exit fall off the left ledge, then a smaller ledge to your right and you should be able to make your way further down.

  Here the group slits up and you can decide wether or not to take the left or the right path (both lead to Sephiroth)

The Right Path

  You really can't lose your path going this way. Just walk down the curving path and pick up any items on your way.

The Left Path

  There's two more separate paths in this one. In one path you can get a Mega-All Materia floating in the waterfall by pressing the O button as Cloud lands on the step in front of it. In the other there will be a lot of enemies that do wonder for mastering your Materia. (it would be a good place to put your Save Crystal if that's your goal.

  At the bottom of your cave you'll meet up with everyone in your team. Talk to each of them and the ones not in your party will give you an item that they found. Form your Party and descend the floating steps to face Jenova while fighting many tough battles on the way.

Jenova-SYNTHESIS: One hit with the Knights of the Round Table should be all that it takes to kill this lady but if not use Cloud's Slash-All to attack all three of her parts. Protect your party by casting Wall, Reagen, and Haste. Look out for her Final Countdown which will send an Ultima on your party.

  When you defeat Jenova the ground below you will break apart and you'll meet Sephiroth floating in front of the lifestream pool. This is the only battle in the game where you can fight Sephiroth will all of your team, but in three groups of course. Get the groups together with the right materia and start the battle. You'll get a game over if one of the teams is wiped out. (Note-Give the group that has Cloud the best materia)

Bizarro-Sephiroth: For a quick win hit him with Knights of the Round Table and mime it if it doesn't get him with one blow. Otherwise this Sephiroth has different parts and after you kill one of them you'll be able to switch parties if you choose. Keep your Wall, Reagen, and Haste up. You can switch teams if you want to but I think it's a waste of time. Use your strongest spells and attacks and concentrate your main attacks on the torso area. He has a spell which can reduce all effected members HP to 1 so use Cure 3 to quickly counter it.

  As soon as you defeat Bizarro-Sephiroth the group with Cloud in it is immediately sent to fight Safer sephiroth in a surreal like plain. (Note the very cool music).

One Winged Angel: Quickly cast Wall, Reagen, and Haste on your party. The One Winged Angel usually casts a Wall for himself early on in the battle so wait until he does and use DeBarrier before unleashing your strong summon spells like Knights of the Round and Neo Bahamut. Sephiroth has a lengthy summon spell Super Nova which can take up to 5000 HP on your party. Just quickly Counter with a Cure 3. If you have a Phoenix-Final Attack Materia equipped your party will be just about invincible because when the person with it equipped dies he/she automatically summons Phoenix to bring them and everyone else back to life.

  Now that Sephiroth is defeated the team leaves their worries at the crater and will rely on faith on Holy to stop Meteor from destroying the planet. When Cloud and Tifa start to leave he will have another psychotic episode. He can still hear him laughing, Sephiroth is still alive. Cloud's spirit leaves his body to fight Sephiroth for one last time.
