Interview
Questions will be asked from the Grooming and Handling project book and
the Dog Care project book.
For youth showing in Intermediate B and Senior B classes, questions will
also come from the following sections of the Dog Learning Laboratory Kit
(used in skillathons):
Anatomy: Parts of the Dog (External)
Bites, Ears and Eyes
Feet, Pasterns and Stifles
Front and Rear Legs
Tails
Backlines
Dog Care and Grooming Equipment: 32 pictures of types of
equipment and a description for each picture
Handler Appearance and Attitude
Grooming
Handling: Individual Exam
Handling: Group Exam
Junior A
- (9-11 yrs. as of 1/1) - 1 year, then move to Grooming and Handling
Junior B if still meeting the age requirements or move to Grooming and
Handling Intermediate B if 12 as of January 1.
Junior B
- (9-11 yrs. as of 1/1) - until reach Intermediate age division; class
winner can repeat Grooming and Handling Junior B every year with same dog;
must progress from Grooming and Handling Junior B to Grooming and Handling
Intermediate B.
Intermediate A

(12-14 yrs. as of 1/1) -
1 year, then move to Grooming and Handling Intermediate B if still meeting
the age requirements or move to Grooming and Handling Senior B if 15 as of
January 1
Intermediate B
- (12-14 yrs. as of 1/1) - until reach Senior age division; class
winner can repeat Grooming and Handling Intermediate B every year with
same dog; must progress from Grooming and Handling Intermediate B to
Grooming and Handling Senior B.
Senior A
(15-18 yrs. as of 1/1) - 1 year, then move to Grooming and Handling Senior
B.
Senior B
(15-18 yrs. as of 1/1) - until ineligible to join 4-H;
class winner can repeat Grooming and Handling Senior B
every year with same dog.
Any previous
participants or dogs in Junior A, Intermediate A, and Senior A may not
enter the same class. First place winners of the Grooming & Handling B
classes can repeat Grooming & Handling B every year with same dog
