The Mission of the North American    Bichon Fanciers Association is...

1.  To bring together those who love the Bichon breeds, for social and  educational activities on regional and national levels.

2.  To help educate owners of pet bichons about the history, health concerns and needs of their breeds.

3.  To help educate those interested in obtaining Bichons about the needs and care required, and about the breed standards, health certifications (OFA/CERF), and other related issues, to enable them to acquire good, healthy pets.

4.  To help encourage and guide the training and socialization of Bichons in general, and to spotlight those Bichons who compete in Obedience, Agility, Tracking and/or Conformation.

5.  To serve as a central resource for rescue and education, with the hope that more Bichons can be rescued, and more homes found for them, through the widespread network of the NABFA.

6.  To collect data on the health and pedigrees of Bichons, to add to the parent breed clubs' databases of health problem information.

7.  To work toward the goal of establishing a small dog rescue facility that will ensure that no Bichon who should be saved must be euthanized or improperly placed due to lack of foster homes and facilities for rehabilitation.
