Sox is my cat, my very own.  You've already heard the story of how I got him, so I won't bore you, but he really is an interesting guy!  He is much more laid back than Tigger is, he almost never kills anything and he isn't very responsive to a person trying to play with him. But as you get to know him, he gets to be a more and more complex cat.  Once he trusts you,  he will come up and rub against your leg, or climb into your lap, but not before.  He loves to be petted and brushed, and he will sit in your lap for hours if nothing startles him.  To this day we can't figure out what it is that traumatized him so badly, but he just doesn't like loud noises or fast movements.  He is very afraid of strangers, and will run if he has a chance.  Sox and Tigger, being brothers, are very good buddies, and in the winter time you can find them curled up together in their box on a regular basis.  Opposites attract!  My next-door neighbor, Melanie, fell in love with Sox when she moved in, and she would pet him for hours and hours every day.  (Meanwhile I was busy with homework.  Sorry Sox.)  Eventually he came to be over there more often than over at my house, which started to get me upset.  After a few brief "cat fights", we called a truce and I decided to live with it.  Sox was getting more and more friendly towards other people every day, thanks to her many hours of attention, so I decided that it was good for him.  Melanie finally decided to get her own cat recently, and Harpurr is gorgeous (you can see her page in my section for "Other Cats"). Melanie has found a new favorite friend.  Sox of course was outraged, and Melanie is almost never out with him any more.  So, on with the job of taking back what's mine, right?  He's still as sweet as ever, and that's what counts.  He is 12 years old as well, but I hope that he has many more good years ahead of him.  Is he photogenic or what!!!
