My background on Norfolk

Norfolk Island is my surrogate home and many of the people there, friends or 'adopted' family. I worked there as archaeologist from June 1981 to September 1990. From 1981 to 1986 my home was at Aunt Em's with Jean Mitchell, Sally Tighe and staff, Keith Bishop and the many fascinating guests that stayed there over that time. After that I rented several houses: Bullocks Hut Road, Anson Bay (Barley and Marj Christian's); Jan Hill's, Steeles Point; Stingy's, Burnt Pine; and at Bataille's, Kingston.

My day-hours 'home' was with the Restoration Team, at Munna's, Kingston, until I was appointed to set up the museums at Kingston under a Bicentennial grant.

After leaving I was asked to write a number of reports regarding archaeological work carried on at Kingston, 1992-1993. I have kept up a fairly good communication (though could be better) with my old friends and until recently subscribed to the Norfolk Islander to keep in touch. I rent a garage on the Island for my wonderful ex-McCoy's 'Green Taxis' which I call Falcie (Leo McCoy and Ralph Holloway make sure that it stays worthy of the road).
