This, then is my collection of stories. And articles. And essays...
Basically this is my collection of written stuff that isn't either a
poem or a ramble. So here it comes, the little blurb should tell you approximately
what the piece is about. Enjoy.
- Theatre of Mythology
- Summer 2002 I attended a class at Portland State University
called "Theatre of Mythology". It was a course that looked at and
analyzed plays from the antique period up to today that deals with
mythological themes. It was all -very- interesting, and for most
of the plays I wrote a short paper. These are collected here.
- Flying
- A short story I wrote just for the fun of it, loosely
based on my experience of skydiving.
- In the Myths of Creation
- I'm quite intrigued by people's need for explanations and
quite fascinated by the solutions they come up with. This essay
was my project work at the end of the 12th grade and in it I
compare five different myths of creation.
- Your husband has been killed
- Somewhat morbid title to a short story my Swedish teacher made me
write. Well actually she gave me the a choice of subjects and I chose
the Greek story of Hector and focused on his wife upon hearing the news
of her husband's death. I then translated it into English just for the fun of it.
- Invasion by the American pumpkin
- In the spring of 2000 the assignment was 'write an article with about 2000 words'
and this is what I came up with. Slamming the US version of Halloween which is
currently spilling over into Sweden with all the commercialism and the hype.
I say let the yanks keep it!
- Travel back in time
- Another assignment in the spring of 2000. I was given a title and a word limit
and then I was off. Somewhat on a tangent to the subject maybe, but I liked it and
so did my teacher. I am pondering weather or not the title
'A day in the life of a woman who's already lived most of her life' fits better.
- The story of us
- For the fun of writing something I wrote down the first sentence of this short story
and it just went on from there. I had no idea where it was going, but it turned out
quite nice in the end.
