Killing Fields - ( 950 Kb ) - by Sparq

" This song , Killing Fields, is about the tragities of war. As with the others everything but thekeys are analog. I do all editing in Sound Forge All sequencing in Cakewalk. A correction to Soma's generous commentary,I did not do the lead vocals on these particular songs. I give credit to Michael Riser who did the lead vocals. I did do the back ups and will soon give you some of my lead vocal stuff but I wanted to give my music a fair chance with a real pro. " (beautiful! - Soma)

Fly - ( 1 Mb ) - by Sparq

" I wrote "Fly" a couple of years ago. All the weird sounds at the beginning are guitar. I used a Peavy Profex II guitar processor and sort of preverted a preset called talkbox.
The lyrics are symbolic of any 'master' that you might have in your life be it sex, drugs, work or even music. Originaly, it was about a person I knew that was pretty messed up on drugs but it eventually evolved into meaning being messed up on anything. The phrase 'when the master comes will you know his name' refers to knowing that something has power over you to make you sway in your priorities. Although written in a christian context, I believe that anything that takes precident over your love of family, God, yourself or right and wrong, is a demon that should not be the master of your life. I hope this isn't to personal or mushy, it just my thoughts. " (beautiful! - Soma)

DunkelTrack - ( 750 Kb ) - by Soma & Dunkelbert

" I found a good guitar sample in Dunkelbert's carpool vortekz2. So, I am giving his credits!
The first bassline is general MIDI (again?!?), the second is the synthbass1e soundfont, that I prepared with Future Music magazine's CDs ( they are at discmxr! ).
Drums, as usual, BBox Addons sounds sequenced in Fruity Loops. Many flange effects (also in guitar) edited inside Cakewalk 8.
Better saying, ALL was sequenced in Cakewalk. I choosed this because its support to AWE64 soundfonts. I sequenced all in piano roll with a mouse. Ah, remember now: time treatments in Wave Surgeon and Sound Forge 4.5.
I hope he likes it!!! "

98 Layer 3 - ( 1 Mb ) - by Sparq

" I wrote this on guitar and transposed it into Cakewalk . Everything except the ghostie sounds and the keys are analog. The song is in a 9/8 time signature (actually, it's 4/4-5/4) but I like to say 9/8 hence the name. "

Alien Shadow - ( 600 Kb ) - by Soma

" I use a sound with this name from Fruity Loops demos directory. It was sequenced with BBox Addons sounds, they work great in Fruity!
You hear some guitars soundfonts found on the net, sitar idem, flange pads, etc. All sequenced in the non-radium Cakewalk8. I use a hindu singer's solo, found in an old demo CD from Future Music magazine. In overall aspect, sounds too dramatic for my taste, but we have to try many styles" "

106 Miles to Chicago - ( 250k ) - by Ford Prefect

"This is one of the first bits i put together.
I used Hammerhead for most of the drums, Making Waves for the drum fills, and the sequencing, and Sound Forge to doctor it all up. Everything started as a single shot sample. Hope ya dig it."

Ambience - ( 550k ) - by Krev

"Track was done at home using all the best and latest audiowarez plus 8 analogue tracks (Fostexmodel 80) & 8 digital (Fostex D80).  Most of the synths done on a Korg Prophecy, Wavestation A/D and Rebirth 2. Other weird noises are stuff I have made up on the Akai S3000XL, and messed around with in Soundforge 4.5 and Wavelab 2.01.
Talking samples are from Star Wars  ("We are preparing to orbit the planet) and Shaft ("Drop the guns and freeze, When this baby starts kickin it wont stop" etc.). I use an Allen & Heath 24:8:16:2 desk which is wicked as it has a lovely warm sound and also I could have 42 channels available for mixdown. That is not including any tracks on Cubase VST or Cakewalk 8.
If you want to hear this track at CD quality, visit my homesite. There are also more fine examples of what I do when not gigging with my band (The Fluff), and also tracks by my band......Check it out.  I play bass, guitar, sing, piano, keyboards, etc. Programming, engineering & production".

Southpark - ( 480k ) - by Extreme Satisfaction

"This was created on Acid by itself. No otherr software was used...The reason I did this was I wanted to show the power of this software...The 303 and beats you hear are samples found on the web. Acid gives you complete power to create 4 beat loops and then load them to your sequencer of choice...all you do is go to menu "file" and choose Export....Then save loops at project tempo...Not as individual tracks. You then have 4 beat loops in perfect time waiting to be used in a sequencer. As you can hear, you also can change the tempo of a song. You can also change  the pitch. I have'nt learned it all yet but from what I see...Awesome Loop Tool !!!"

Track 01 - ( 400k ) - by Jonne

I use ReBirth and Boss DR-660 for drums, Yamaha AN1x for pads and sweeps, and Generator for some fx. The "robotic" sound that goes almost thru the whole song in the third track is actually ReBirth with lots of tweaking and some pcf. I really love that program once you´re geting in to it.

African Queen - ( 700k ) - by Tamis

"I used Acid for the audio 'sequencing' , Sound Forge for general edition (lots of trimming...), Generator 1.53 for the sweep. Some loops by myself with Fruity Loops, others somewhere in the net."
27/09/98

Project - ( 700k ) - by Extreme Satisfaction

"I used a Novation Bass Station for the "Crazy" sounds...The 303 you hear is also the Novation...I also use 2 yamaha "cheap" synths for sounds. Beats were samples and my DR.550 Drum Machine. I used Fruity Pro to create some loops...ie: the clicks...I find Fruity Pro to be an awesome loop tool...You can make the pitch change in a noise and sequence it like a synth would be playing it...Awesome!!! Cool edit Pro of course is my editor of choice...And now you have a simple tune. This is only the demo. No way near finished yet...Enjoy"

Morning - (430 k ) - by Thorosm

"It was made with Acid , Korg Prophecy;
drums from rebirth and fruity loops; noises and stuff edited with all the cool plugins".

03/09/98

Star - ( 330 k ) - by Thorosm

"I used Acid to sequence and create loops. Most are created with Korg Prophecy ( ! ).
Like a sequencer, Acid sends MIDI clock, so you can clock your synths to arpeggiate in sync, and if your synths have syncble LFOs, even better!
Post processing-standard - some compression to drums and Maximizer in the end. There is also use of Fusion Vocoder".

02/09/98

TechnoBahia - ( 280k ) - by Soma

"In this track you hear Hammerhead, a cool and free drum machine. It was treated on Wave Surgeon, where I could invert some cymbals. All the rest are soundfonts sequenced in Cakewalk 7. The most interesting thing is about Africa-Brazil concepts of rhythm".
01/09/98

Crazy Dolls - ( 191k ) - by Soma

"Very simple music that everyone could make...The electronic background was produced with Rubber Duck - easy to use, but inaccurate about time measures. Wave Surgeon failed in editing a 8Mb wav file, so, I used Sound Forge. I used also the all-powerfull Beat Box, all sequenced with mouse in Cakewalk7 (it was choosen because of AWE soundfonts). Hope you enjoy!"
