This is the first SLBGA mentoring event in 2003 for "green" golfers. We will start with a 1/2 hour clinic with 2 teaching pros followed by golf play on the short par 3 course at Golfplex. On to Pheasant Run for a buffet lunch. After lunch, there will be another 1/2 hour clinic, concluding with 9 holes of golf at Pheasant Run. 

This event is open to all members wishing to brush up on their golfing skills.

Directions:  Take I-64 to Hwy K, turn right, proceed 3 miles to Waterford Crossing and then turn left on Tri-Sports Drive. Or from I-70, turn left on Hwy K, proceed 4 miles to Waterford Crossing and then turn right on Tri-Sports Drive.

This well-bunkered course provides an honest challenge for the intermediate golfer. Water hazards (two lakes and a creek) come into play on a few holes. Beware of unexpected water on #18.

Directions:  From I-64 going E, get off at Exit 14 and make a right on Route 50, when you reach Old Collinsville Rd make a left, drive 3 miles and you'll see the course on the left side of the road.

This is a very unique links-style course. The back nine provides a panoramic view of the waterfalls on the other holes. The course was built on rolling terrain. "Golf Digest" rated this course as the 7th "Best Public Course" in the state for 1996.

Directions:  From I-270, take Route 3 going S, drive for 9.5 miles until you come to HH Rd, make a right and drive another 2.5 miles to Gall Rd, make a left and drive a short distance to the course, look for the entrance off Birdie Ln.

The Eighteen Hole Course was built on gently rolling hills, and locals say they believe the course is a good challenge for all skill levels of players. Some of the greens are elevated. Water hazards come into play on a number of holes on both the front and back nines.

Directions:  From Hwy 367 going N, travel to Redman Rd and turn W, drive 1 mile to the course, look for the entrance on the right side of the road.

This Lydia's House charity event is open to members and their guests. Our first charity event of 2003 is guaranteed to be "Groovy"! Don't miss this scramble. Tie-dyed apparel is optional.

This course is located inside a valley. The front nine is short, well bunkered, and flat. The back nine is hilly, well bunkered, and lengthy. There are ponds that come into play on four holes. The signature hole is #12, a par 3, which plays from an elevated tee downhill through woods.

Directions:  Take I-44 going W, when you come to Hwy 141 turn S, once you reach Meramac Station Rd turn W, head over to Hillsboro Rd and turn S, drive 1.5 miles to the course, look for the entrance on the right side of the street.

This links-style course is challenging, due to the many hazards hidden throughout the design. There are several water hazards and drainage ditches that come into play on a number of holes. The fairways are mostly flat, except for some gently rolling. The signature hole is #3, a par 3, which calls for an elevated tee shot down to a medium-sized green that slopes away from the tee. Proper ball speed and accuracy play an important role on this hole.

Directions:  From the City of St. Louis, take I-70 going W to Mid Rivers Mall Dr and turn left, continue for 3 miles to the course, which is located on the left-hand side of the street.

This is a mentoring event for "green" golfers but is open to all members.

The course is very flat with many shade trees. Water hazards come into play on a total of six holes.

Directions:  From I-44 going W, get off at the Soccer Park exit and turn right, travel to Yarnell Rd and turn right again, proceed for 1.5 miles, then turn right on Larkin Williams Rd.

This event is open to members and their guests.

This course is typical of an Arthur Hills design. The front nine is an open, links-style, with the back nine cut into the natural Missouri topography. Rolling fairways and small greens are prevalent throughout the course. Mature furs and oaks are accentuated on the back nine. The course mainly caters to shotmaking-style of play. No single hole can be designated as the signature hole due to the immense variety of holes, particularly on the back half of the course.

Directions:  Take I-44 West to Lewis Road. Follow Lewis Road to the golf course on the right.

This links-style course has five lakes that come into play on nine holes. The greens are well maintained, slightly undulating, and some are multi-tiered. The signature hole is #6, featuring a very scenic creek flowing next to the green.

Directions:  From the Airport, take I-270 going S, when you come to Hwy 30 go W, and go down to W Watson Rd and make a right, head directly to the course.
