Reek of the Week

13. Roy Keane, again...

Congratulations to Mr. Roy Keane, who has finally gone and got himself
another  reek of the week award. And, considering the chop that he
is, it's high time for another. His own goal against Real Madrid in the
recent Champions League Quarter final was, well, hilarious.
Michel Salgado broke down the right and fired in what seamed to be
a harmless low cross which Van der Gouw looked certain to just stoop
down and gather comfortably. But no, Captain Roy had to make sure
the danger was totally averted, and in trying to slide in and hoist the
ball out for a corner, only succeeded in slicing the ball into his own
net for the opening goal. You think any other player would simply leave
the ball to be picked up comfortably by the goalkeeper, but our Roy isn't
that type of player, and, being the hero that he is, slotted home nicely
into his own net, to the amusement of a lot of people.
