10. Paulo Wanchope
 
 

The Costa Rican striker hasn't had the best of times since moving to the Capital. Only recently
scoring his first goal for the hammers, he hasn't been anywhere near regaining the form
that prompted his move from Derby in the summer. But in this game against Villa, Paulo
went about as close to scoring as you can without actually hitting the net. A nice cross from
Joe Cole picked out Wanchope perfectly, but, from 4 yards out, straight in front, the keeper
nowhere, he somehow managed to scoop his effort over the bar. Honestly, it'd be easier to
score from there. The phrase "couldn't score in a brothel" comes to mind..
