On May 1, 1996, Allen announced that he was eligible for the 1996 NBA draft. Ive was drafted #1 by the 76ers. In Allen's rookie season alone he broke Wilt Chamberlin's record, and scored 40 points in 5 games straight. The Answer won the MVP of the Rookie All-Star game. But to top off his rookie season the Question was Answered when Allen won the Rookie of the Year award. In only Iverson 3rd year as a pro, he is arguable the best ball handler of all-time. Also in the short 98-99 season, Allen is leading the NBA in scoring, and is a front runner in the NBA for MVP. He has also helped the Sixers position themselves in play off position. Allen is now 24 and has a lot of more years to go in the NBA.
