Everything could have been lost on Feb. 3, Valentine's Day, 1993, when Allen was with some friends at a bowling alley when a fight broke out between Allen's group and some white students. The 17 year old Allen Iverson was tried as an adult and was convicted of "maiming by mob" and sentenced to 5 years for throwing a chair at a girl. Because the case was very big, when Doug Wilder was elected as the first black Governer of Hampton, Virginia, looked over the case, and granted Ive conditional release after Allen had already spent 1/3 of a year in prison. |
