RESULTS OF 1998 BATTLE OF THE BAY

 
                                         March 13, 1999

 
The Oakland Strokes took first in four of the eight events they entered  at the 3rd annual Battle of the Bay varsity regatta held on the estuary on March 13, 1999.  The regatta featured St. Ignatius College Prep, Berkeley High School, Marin Rowing and the Oakland Strokes.  A crowd of about 400 observed the event in cool clear conditions with generally flat water and some wind.   The women's varsity trophy went to Marin Rowing and the Oakland Strokes captured the men's varsity cup for the third consecutive year.
