Game 15 Summary: Potomac 50 McLean School 23

February 23, 2000 - The Potomac Intermediate School basketball team beat the McLean School 50-23 to finish the regular season undefeated at 15-0, earning the number one seed in this weekend's Bullis Tournament.

Potomac played another strong defensive game, while taking a while to figure out McLean's own defensive zone before running away with the game. The Panthers only allowed two points in the first quarter, and only four points in the second to take a commanding 35-6 halftime lead. Marcus Ginyard had 3 steals, and Brent Locey pounded the boards to get some hard earned baskets. Michael Fischer camped out at the freethrow line after continually getting fouled driving to the basket.

In the second half, the Panthers worked the ball around and went to the foul line alot. Michael Diamond hit all four of his freethrows, as did Pete Dalla and Robbie dePicciotto with two a piece. In all, Potomac went 18 for 30 from the charity stripe.

Brent Locey led Potomac with 12 points followed by Michael Fischer (7), Chris McNerney (7), Pete Dalla (6), and Robbie dePicciotto (6).

Potomac's next games will be away at the Bullis Tournament this weekend. The Panthers start off on Friday night at 7:00pm, then Saturday at 5:30pm. If Potomac wins both games, they will play Sunday at 5:30pm for the Championship. Go Panthers!
